You act as if corporate espionage doesn't exist in the private — and public — sectors.

It might go down something like this at his farewell party in a private conversation with a single, Senior Partner:

Siddharth, I know you'll make us proud with Judge Carter. He's a tough old Marine, but you'll learn a lot while you're with him. We had to pull some strings to get you in there on such short notice, but I had someone on the selection committee who owed me a favor.
