I think those people who are publicly and falsely saying that Rush uttered these racist statements should get letters from Rush’s attorneys. He needn’t sue, but they SHOULD get those letters insisting that whereas the party speaking such slander is hereby obligated to prove in a court of law that these statements were uttered by Rush Hudson Limbaugh, mmm mmm mmm.
What gets me is that the same people who rolled on the floor laughing each time Bush was skewered can’t understand simple parody or satire going the other way. Maybe they never got the Bush jokes, either. Or maybe the Bush jokes were just blatantly crass rather than the fine satire that Rush does so well; some people must lack the gene for understanding it.
I am reminded also of the people who blamed Hannity for playing a tape of when Ted Kennedy said “Osama Obama”, as if he fabricated it, and the recent folks who claimed Rush made up “Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama”. They don’t follow the news, either, it seems.
