As mother of a Marine, I found something troubling about the Ad Council's ads to help returning vets--portraying them as isolated, disconnected from society. My suspicions were correct. They are posturing to represent our veterans--like AARP represents our seniors. Like ACORN represents the poor. Like the AMA represents doctors. See a pattern. There are so many left-wing dominated organizations posing as something they are not so they can ultimately be the power brokers in Washington. Be alert! Check out their board. When I saw Daily Kos and AARP references to IAVA that did it for me.

Thanks Samsmom!...I hear radio spots all the time for Iran/Iraq vets...from now on I’ll start paying closer attention to who sponsors them....and BTW this approach from the Left started with the Vietnam anti war movement...soon they had vets portrayed as dangerous mad dogs.

Yes, I was suspicious of the organization the moment I heard their radio spots.

One of the earlier ones had a kid’s voice saying ‘Daddy, did you have to kill anybody?’

they’re using the old VN-era leftist slant that combat turns people anti-social, they become isolated and depressed and they brood on all the people they ‘had’ to kill..

I knew it was a scam the minute I heard the ads.
