I should have clarified; Washington has a 5 day period for the purchase of your pistol during which your Federal record is checked (the 4473 isn’t checked immediately, but sometime in the next 4 days). But only if you don’t have a CPL; if you have a concealed permit, you can walk out with your pistol.
