I would, however, bring a gun to a Chris Matthews interview

"What's Chrissy gonna arm himself with?.....Spitballs????."

Then there are those of us who ccw at all times.

Not a problem, in most cases, but what’d happen if I stopped at our local country store when a presidential candidate was there?

The man made good points, and he protected our rights to be out and about.

I can live with that.

I completely agree with Mr. Kostric. We have the right to keep and BARE arms, yet we don't. If we want to keep our rights, we have to use them. I'm just happy as hell Mr. Kostric knew what the heck he was talking about. I'm glad it was a man who knew history, was well spoken and did not allow himself to get worked up and tell Chris to STFU... as I would have.

It’s great PR. Everyone one should exercise their rights at every opportunity. Bad PR would have been a semi-literate redneck (no offense to my redneck friends) being torn to shreds by Matthews, but this guy was articulate and well spoken. Chris got nothing from this, but I for one was inspired. Way to go Kostric!

I can’t stream video, but I take it the gentlemean represented himself well despite the interviewer?

He didn’t bring a gun to the townhall. The Secret Service never would have let him in. He was outside and down the street. The police had no problem with him, the Secret Service had no problem with him, the State of New Hampshire had not problem with him - but Chris Matthews? Well.

Seriously, getting all defensive over his man-crush.

He seriously drools all the time...it dribbles out of his mouth when he talks.

Just because a candidate is there should not cancel your rights. If a candidate wants to stop into a country store in a state where CCW is legal, the SS should live with the fact that there may be people legally carrying. If that bothers them, then they should stay away.

And indeed, my understanding is that they *do* live with that fact. I know that I have been within touching distance of several presidential candidates while carrying at least one firearm. Nobody got in my face about it, nor was it national news. Although on one occasion Giuliani’s handlers did ask me to conceal it, so as not to bother the sheeple.

What upsets me is the apparent flaunting of 18 USC 922(q) as a purported excuse for banning firearms from the curtilege of yesterday’s venue, including the street. Even though this “Gun Free School Zones Act” runs roughshod over states’ rights and has, in any event, been deemed clearly unconstitutional by SCOTUS.
