Well said. I was a liberal at one point, and it took several years for me to become conservative. For me, it started with asking questions, seeing things not work and then one day things finally fell into place. I look for trends - if a politician shows over time he is trending to the right or left or center, then it’s possible he/she has had or is having a change of heart. I am leery of overnight conversions. Our current “centrist” Pres. is a classic example. I was pretty sure based on his scant record, and his stands over the years he was going to be the most leftist Pres. we have ever had. I was not disappointed, I’m sorry to say.
