CNN says that Hawaii couldn't have verified Obama's Original B.C. last year--who's lying?

CNN President Jon Klein sent an e-mail to staffers of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” just as the program went to air, informing them that CNN researchers had determined that Hawaiian officials discarded all paper documents in 2001

TVNewser has learned CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein sent an email to a handful of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” staffers last night regarding the coverage of the so-called birthers and the validity of Pres. Obama’s birth in the U.S.

In part, Klein writes, “It seems this story is dead- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.” Klein asked CNN researchers to dig into the question of why Obama couldn’t produce the original birth certificate. The researchers contacted the Hawaii Health Dept. and confirmed that paper documents were discarded in 2001 when the department went paperless. That reportedly includes Pres. Obama’s original birth certificate.

My Researcher:

October 2008, Hawaiian officials reported that they had personally verified the existence of Barack Obama’s original birth certificate: State officials say there’s no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.

Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino says she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama’s original birth certificate.

Fukino says that no state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama’s certificate be handled differently from any other. She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest in it.

WHY ALL THE LIES? SOMETHING IS FISHY. THEY DISCARDED IT 8 YEARS AGO, YET SEEN IT IN 2008?

It is in our digital age, and it is for purposes of the law Clinton signed in 2001 allowing states to convert over to digital systems and discard original paper...

No, they can be starting to fall apart for those who thought that a state dept would ever gie up damaging records about “the one”.

Someone seems to be not telling the truth here...

Obama's original long-form birth certificate no longer exists, and a computer-generated abbreviated version Someone appears to be not telling the truth CNN or Hawaii or both?

that has been promoted on the Internet is the official record.

Wishful thinking CNN.

§338-16 (c) Such evidence shall be kept in a special permanent file.

§338-21 (b) The evidence upon which the new original certificate is made, and the superseded original certificate shall be sealed and filed and may be opened only upon order of a court of record.

There's also a long-form at:
-- the US Social Security Administration (Centralized records after 1972)
-- US State Dept (check with those who broke into it in March 2008)
-- INTERPOL (kept for later blackmail)
-- the Indonesian US Embassy (check with John Tingle Jr [and his replacement] at the US Consulate office)
-- etc

There's always an archive -- ALWAYS.

I have a PA BC for a relative of mine, but it’s an abstract (I didn’t ask for an abstract, but it’s what they gave me). Were you able to get a long form?

why did they lie last year and say they verified his ‘Original Birth Certificate’ is on file?

Exactly!

Hawaii state health director Dr. Chiyome Fukino:

"Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures."

When I applied for a U.S. passport for the first time in 1996, I had to produce a certified, original birth certificate. It had my parents’ names, the hospital, the doctor, the attending nurse, date, time, gender, etc. and had to have a certified stamp on it (a raised stamp). The passport office then mailed this back to me along with the passport and I still have it in my possession. Did Obama throw his away when he got his passport?

An original image file isn’t even a certificate until it’s printed on paper. And again, that would be a duplicate.

Let me offer one interesting aspect of this “game”. Dumping all paper documents and going to strictly a digital environment....leads to one classic scenario. You place a nuke in the upper atmosphere....say four miles above Seattle...it explodes. The EMP involved...will destroy anything of a digital nature...within seconds. There is no recovery for data. You can remanufacture your AM radio, your computer, your watch, your CD player....but you can’t reconstruct the data (unless if it was stored in some secret vault in Utah, which is very unlikely).

So...is this what we are going to accomplish? All data gone from a society that digitized it?

What can I say, other than the State of Hawaii converted over to a digital system, as soon as Clinton signed a law to that effect in 2001, allowing states to convert to digital and discard paper.

Hawaii did it, and the paper was discarded. The original does exist... it’s an image file in their computer system. If you order yours from Hawaii, they print out the image file original and you’ve got your certified copy of your birth certificate. It’s the same thing you would get in any case....

It’s not a big deal, actually, and nothing changes...

Uh, no. Sorry. Actually, the abstract is the only thing accepted for a passport application.

You said — Uh, no. Sorry. Actually, the abstract is the only thing accepted for a passport application.

Well..., that confirms it for me. A person can get any kind of answer they want on Free Republic... LOL..

Just a few hours ago, another FReeper assured me that without my certified copy of my original birth certificate and having it *embossed* (had to be “embossed”) I was not going to get a passport... :-)

This Obama birth certificate issue is becoming more complicated with each passing day, it seems.

I'm a simple person who has only one precious possession in this Obama birth certificate issue: My vote in the presidential elections in 2012.

So I say this to President Obama:

1. Do you really want my precious vote in 2012?

2. If you do, I say this: If you want to have any chance whatsoever of getting my vote in 2012, then you must (1) allow Hawaii to release your long form birth certificate, and you must (2) allow Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard to release your college records.

a. NOTE: Let me emphasize that I DON'T want the Obama camp to be the one who releases your long form birth certificate or your college records, because I don't trust you.

b. Instead, I want you to simply give Hawaii PERMISSION to release your 1961 long form birth certificate.

c. I want you to give Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard PERMISSION to release your college records.

d. That is, I don't want anyone from the Obama camp to touch your long form birth certificate or your college records before they are released to the public.

3. If you don't want to do what I demand above, that is your decision, a decision you have every legal right to make as I understand it.

4. However, if you don't want to meet my demands above, then there is no chance in Hell that I, and many other voters, will vote for you in 2012.

5. Let me know what you decide to do, but the longer you wait to respond to my demands, the angrier I will become and the less chance you will have of getting my vote in 2012.

If it’s your home computer, you’re probably right, but with state records, they count on things like that, disasters of all sorts and they handle it through backups and secondary sites in order to survive disasters. For EMP, they’ve probably built a Faraday Cage for records... Or, they may have the records on non-magnetic media.

Home users, of course, wouldn’t do that...

Certainly not true. They have a poster at the post office clearly showing a picture of an abstract, and stating that this is the only acceptable form.

It bugs me he would ask soldiers to sacrifice their lives but he can’t sacrifice $12 measly dollars for a birth certificate.

Talk about a coward.

And I really hate how the ‘news’ says he’s in the right on that.

And with Hawaii with an obvious history of being attacked or possibly by being in the NORKS crosshairs I would strongly doubt that Hawaii will go completely digital, anything of an original record will be in a vault either in Hawaii or at a Federal Records facility.

That would be pure suicide to go completely digital, especially when any intelligent whiz kid and not hard to obtain parts can make his own EMP device.

Its a complete bogus path, EVERYTHING IS ARCHIVED.
