Rush and conservatives never talked about it; the media, ofcourse did not cover it and conservative ideas and reform stopped.

That was one of my disappointments about Rush. I stop listening for a few years. Rush carried a lot of water for Bush. Rush was trying to be a Republican instead of a conservative Now that the Democrats are in power, Rush has gone back to being a conservative. I hope he has learned his lesson as well.

The only faithful conservatives have been the pro life groups and that is only one part of the conservative agenda for reform. We are not weak victims; we have the power and the brain thrust (Cato and Heritage) to take over the whole shabang.

I think that is true. But it will take a lot of work to dislodge the McCains and Crists and Grahams from the party. I think part of the problem is that when conservatives get elected and go to Washington, they so want to be part of the cocktail circuit of fashionable people. So they move left and become media whores like McCain did.

When conservatives are present, organized and active, the Rinos ARE dislodged as a cranky minority standing in the way of reform. When we don’t go after an agenda of reform, they get to follow the Democrats’ agenda in the void we left in the GOP.
