The Blue Dog Democrats (self-described as fiscal conservatives, and some are somewhat socially conservative as well) are beginning to jump ship on Obama’s monster health scheme. Let’s give them every possible encouragement.

Keep in mind that they rightly make a priority of responding to people in their own districts. If you have any pretext for using an address in their particular state (e.g. your mama lives in their district) please do so: you’ll get a higher level of attention.

Dear Representative,

I urge you to vote AGAINST the so-called Health Care Reform which would

• - enmesh healthcare in a huge, even costlier bureaucracy
• - strangle competitive insurance availability
• - subsidize tens of thousands of abortions
• - apply unethical new standards (such as denial of nutrition/hydration for the elderly and disabled sick as part of “palliative care.”)

Any solution must increase, not decrease, vigorous competition among private insurance and healthcare providers. Only competition provides effective pressure for greater efficiencies. Only competition ensures that services will be provided in the way, the amount, and the manner that we, the people (the "health consumers") actually want. The proposed health-care “public insurance option” is a major threat to every family's ability to make decisions about health and disability, life and death.

But --- government health care?

With all the efficiency of FEMA and all the compassion of the IRS?

Please. Just Say No.

I don’t know if you are going after Senators, but Mary Landrieu of Louisiana should be a target. Some say she is lining up against ObamaCare...

I live in Moore’s district and he knows exactly how I feel about the health care proposals. I’d say the odds of him supporting the president on this are about 60:40, maybe more since his seat is safe. But if enough people make their displeasure clear then that may push him into opposition.

Nuther thing to metion to these congess critters. Unlike judges, they do not have a lifetime job and possibly after the very next election cycle, they might find themselves out here with the rest of us peasants and enjoying the “benefits” of obamacare. AFAIK, congress critters do not get lifetime care as presidents enjoy.
