As he prepares for his trip to Israel next week, Defense Secretary Robert Gates is leaking his objections to any Israeli operation to prevent Iran from crossing that nuclear weapons threshold:

With every step it takes Israel takes into account both her relationship with the United States and the effect that her actions will have on the entire region. It’s all about Iran and nukes...meanwhile some of the fools in our government are distracted by the small things.
.... seems to me that they have taken the , ahem, “relationship” into account and found that the relationship on AmeriKa’s side is pathetic and impotent in every area.
The pattern over the last five years or so has been that Iran is only “months” away from getting a nuclear weapon. With Russia’s help, who’s to say that they don’t already have them and are waiting for the right time to use them. I’d bet money Iran already possesses nukes. Just a hunch.
