I listened to her entire announcement. It was honorable, it was direct, and it punctuated the insane politics of our day...it also punctuated her personal commitment to fight, and to do so when it would not distract further from her job as Governor and the foundation she has built there.

I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American.

I believe she will assist others greatly in 2010, and will run herself in 2012...and she has my full support.

GO SARAH GO!

Get ready for some LIEberal scum of the earth lies about Palin. They have probably spent a billion dollars trying to trump up a scandal just to take her down. Sarah inspires fear in them and that’s why she will trounce Hussein in 2012.

There are so many opinions today about Sarah’s decision. I’m interested only in those from people who watched/listened to her entire speech today (such as yourself). She put her accomplishments out there unfiltered, and she was clear about her reasons and her next moves.

She’s rolling up her sleeves to fight the good fight: helping others with their campaigns and speaking out on the issues. She’s going to roll up hundreds more Auburns (where 20,000 came out to see her in a democrat town of 28,000) out there. She will be heard, and will go straight to the people in a variety of venues for that to happen.

I’m reminded of Ronald Reagan, and I’ve been hoping this is the route she’d take.

Agree 100%.

I believe she will now help numerous candidates in 20101...and she will gain tremendous political capital from doing so.

I also believe she will now be free to burn up the air waves and attend all sorts of speaking engagements, book tours, etc, where here popular support will just continue to grow.

If she does this (and I expect she will), she has my support 110% and she does precisely because she is not a politician, but represnts the best chance to return to the American values upon which this Republic hinges.

Exactly!

This is all about the midterm elections for next year.

This is all about freeing Sara up for fundraising in the Lower 48 and driving turnout to help the GOP take back the House next year.

Hi nit, I’ve been on another thread and haven’t seen her full speech. Quite a surprise to me. Were you hoping she would resign as Governor?

I read the entire announcement. She gave perfectly sound, credible reasons for doing what she’s doing. I’ve already read some blogs and lamesteam commentary that simply LIED about what she said, and portrayed her as whining and quitting. They rely on large numbers of people not to go find the whole speech.

I think much of it had to do with the kids seeing their baby brother Trig mocked by some pretty mean-spirited adults recently.

That saddens me so much.

Might as well add the rest of that part:

Um, by the way, sure wish folks could ever, ever understand that we ALL could learn so much from someone like Trig - I know he needs me, but I need him even more... what a child can offer to set priorities RIGHT – that time is precious... the world needs more "Trigs", not fewer.

So where’s the text? Won’t “Freedom Post” allow posting of the full text here?

’m reminded of Ronald Reagan, and I’ve been hoping this is the route she’d take.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have the thread winner. :)

This is exactly what Reagan did in preparation for his national run. Sarah can POUND the living daylights out the Messiah and his evil schemes week after week, and it will be very hard for the media to IGNORE 10-20 thousand people at these events.

I’m grateful on Greta’s show tonight they showed the entire speech. I missed the very first part but saw most of it, and have to say, I was very impressed also.

She gave her reasons for not wanting to waste the money and time of Alaskans as a lame duck office-holder, as present lame ducks do nowadays travelling, spending large sums of tax-payer money living a do-nothing, easy life until the term ends.

Every Alaskan should be very grateful. Modern politics has turned lame ducks into unproductive mush. In good conscience, she could not do that.

I believe she’s honorable in her intentions.

I wish she could become President of the U.S. But for the sake of her family and Sarah’s sake also, I hope she does not run for that office. A true conservative cannot be elected anymore to the office of Pres., unfortunately. This country has become too lost—those with loose morals are now in the majority and have no desire for righteousness.

As someone here commented, Sarah can have a huge impact on the 2010 elections and beyond just by campaigning for the conservative candidates.

It was a very good speech and one that will go over the heads of most Americans. All they will see or hear about is the quitting.

Hi potlatch! I was hoping Sarah would become the voice of the anti-statist/socialist opposition through public appearances of all types. I remember Ronald Reagan speaking on GE factory floors and on radio for years, patiently educating us about how the economy works, and how government should stay out of the way.

Sarah’s way ahead of me. I didn’t think she’d leave the governorship this month. Now that I think about it, it’s a brilliant move, foiling the Alinsky method of tying her up with bogus allegations, and using her ethics reform against her with unwarranted technicalities. She described in her speech how her duties as governor have been hampered by the frivolous lawsuits. She would not be able to freely campaign for other candidates or make special appearances without howling by her opponents that she wasn’t tending to Alaska’s business.

Most beautiful of all, she declared her independence on the eve of Independence Day, and served notice she will fight for our freedoms. The MSM has no clue what just happened.

I keep hearin’ something about a TON of frivolous
lawsuits by Liberals that are tryin’ to wear her
down. It wastes a lot time and $$ to keep them
knocked down.

This will free her up to concentrate on what she
may do for 2012 alrighty.

What I have seen so far I LIKE and a LOT !!

Give ‘em hell, Sarah Barracuda !!!! :^D

Anyone who has watched Sarah Palin’s entire speech today could have no doubt about her future intentions.
