I agree with his points on BO but I am tired of radio, tv talk show hosts and now columnists always claiming they told us so months or years ago and then admonishing people for not doing anything. Each time they scold us I think haven't these people been paying attention? Don't they see people are becoming more involved? Don't they understand tea parties are protests?

Turner then has the audacity to claim phone calls, emails and faxes don't count as active when those methods are one of many important methods to let Congress critters know we are becoming active. In the next sentence he contradicts himself by imploring people to make phone calls but he doesn't realize there is a brick wall called a staff between politicians and the people rendering any direct connection over the phone between the latter two groups impossible. These holier than thou self proclaimed crusaders are beginning to annoy me. Below is the link to another way people can get involved.

Congress doesn't seem to care one whit about phone calls, letters and emails. The outcry against every one of the “Obama” actions has been overwhelmingly against, and they have ignored the will of the people. Congress considers itself “above the people” and they are out of control. They have control of the money, media and apparently have bought and paid for the judiciary. Nothing less could explain how Obama can Unconstitutionally seize assets of private citizens and not one single lawsuit or legal action sees light of day. With the manipulation of Acorn of the census and the voter fraud we will never again see an honest election result in this country. So yes, Red Dawn has come and went without any shots fired. It's Red Afternoon now and I'm not seeing anything but apathy. While Congress conspires to take control of every aspect of our lives, the media's non stop focus is on “Michael Jackson”. The U.S. has been raped and pillaged during the last 6 months, and the majority does not even know it. But they probably know every detail of “American Idol” or the details of every other stupid “reality” show. They won't care until the utilities are shut off either due to the tremendous rise in costs or because they no longer have jobs.
Tea parties are going to continue to be ignored, no matter how loud and large they become. They will be infiltrated, they will be dismissed as the underhanded “organized” tricks of (fill in the blank) right wing extremists. And we will be ignored until we surround Washington with tens of millions.

They've annoyed me for years. In principle, constituent communication is supposed to be a primary means of self-governance. I am convinced that the USA ceased being a body of self-governing people a few generations ago, probably in the 1910's or 20's, but maybe as late as the 1960's.

Political leadership is in the game for pure self-serving reasons. I think the "open communications," "free speech," "free press" and "free elections" are mere pressure indication and relief devices. The leading class obtains feedback as to whether it is pushing too hard or too fast (but the leading class is relentless in pushing to demolish the power of the middle class and to make the US a sort of plantation), and it legitimizes its actions as being the will of the people (see free elections). The more the people talk, the more the action becomes legitimate.

I think the republic would be better off if the general public STOPPED wasting energy communicating with leaders, and caused the leaders to show their own hand. The leaders follow orders of well-heeled lobbyists, and rarely, if ever, change a position on account of public pressure. The Congress would really get the willies if the public suddenly dummied up. They watch the public like hawks, looking for signs of serious dissent (i.e., signs that the people have figured out that talk is pointless), all the while assuring the public that they (Congress) have a majority of free people supporting them, and thereby have the authority and power to fix what ails the country.

Every call, even those in dissent, adds legitimacy to Congress. They're so smart, let them act on their own. The principle of self-government is busted, and I, for one, quit pretending it works.

The “Super Grand Jury” can indict until it’s blue in the face.

What is it going to do then ?

Rush is one of the worst in the area you mentioned. His friendship with Bush has clouded how he talks about issues. I have been a long time listener of Rush, but his failure to address the COLB issue and providing cover for Bush concerning his socialist policies leaves me bewildered.

In this regard I consider Rush an inside the beltway guy.

And it would be nice if Rush would put his actions where his mouth is and lend his suppprt to the Tea Party movement by attending the one in DC coming up next month.
