The ones who will be hit hardest are the red state rural voters.

I’d like to know where Newt, the man who shared a global warming commercial with Pelosi, stands on this outrage.

Three documents came out VERY late in the game on this debate:

1) A 300+ page "manager's amendment" that was added to the bill at 3:09am the day of the House vote. Not only was this a voluminous add-on, it is a scary document. How will local governments be able to afford the extra staff to enforce the new and very confusing building code laws. The bill also radically modifies international trade rules.

2) A suppressed and censored report from our own EPA exposes many problems with the theories and "consensus" of the populist (and now debunked) theory of global warming, and the true (and minimal) affect of human activity on the climate. The suppressed EPA report is linked here:

http://cei.org/news-release/2009/06/25/cei-releases-global-warming-study-censored-epa

3) A report from the Chicago-based Heartland Institute summarized the Non-Governmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) that attempts to use scientific and rational arguments to identify exactly what is going on in the climate and the true impact of human activity. The recently released NIPCC report is found here:

You can tell from reading FR that it is impossible to compel Republicans to do anything. It's like herding cats. I've been there. I've seen it first hand and if you think you have all the answers, we'll be waiting to hear your announcement that you're running for office.

Republicans do not operate like RATS because they can't.

Newt Gingrich: Cap-and-Trade is another way of saying 2+2=5

By: Newt Gingrich
Examiner Columnist | 6/26/09 6:44 AM

The Obama White House has spent the week furiously working to convince its fellow Democrats in Congress to support the global warming bill that’s before the House today. Former Vice President Al Gore has been working the phones, and there was even a luau at the White House last night.

[snip]

The reality is that the bill before the House today imposes what could be the largest tax increase in history on the American people. And every single one of us who heats a home, drives a car, and manufactures or consumes products made in America will pay the price.

Estimates are that the Waxman-Markey bill will raise electricity prices by an astounding 90 percent. It will raise gasoline prices by 74 percent. It will raise the average American family’s energy bill by $1,500 each year.

And, far from creating jobs, experts predict that the global warming bill will destroy 1,105,000 jobs on average each year, with peak years seeing unemployment rise by over 2,479,000 jobs.

All in all, the bill is expected to reduce our gross domestic production (GDP) by $9.6 trillion. And for what?

Even if - if - the legislation works exactly as it is intended (a rare feat in Washington), in about 100 years the Earth’s temperature will be one tenth of one degree Celsius lower than the United Nations predicts it will otherwise be.

Not only is it going to kill jobs, its going to finish off the housing market. The green regulations that will be required to sell a new or existing home are going to add thousands of dollars to the cost.

I guess the jobs produced will be bureaucrats and inspectors.

Open letter to Members of the Senate:

You don’t read and you don’t understand the bills you are voting on? Then you are failing and failing badly, at another reading and understanding - the temper of the voting public.

What is the purpose of the House of Representatives and the Senate, anyway? All the issues surrounding the application and administration of these massive tomes of proposed legislation should be debated, and if they cannot be debated, they should be deleted before the bill itself is presented.

Enron went into the tank for a far less ambitious scheme than “Cap and Trade”. And people moaned about how badly they had been treated then. Bernie Madoff was a piker compared to the size of this “Tax and Kill”, which is a pernicious and regressive consumption tax that not only hits the lower strata of income totally disproportionately, it shall be practically impossible for anyone on the bottom quintile to ever leave that level.

I guess that is some kind of “freedom”, just another way to say you got nothing left to lose.

Congress is about to shoot us in the foot. We might not bleed out, but we are sure going to be pretty lame for a long time.

Last week I asked, what will we do after we have cap-n-tax, single-payer healthcare, and the elimination of union secret ballot? When are we going to realize that calling, e-mailing, faxing, and teaparties will never work again?

Remember, over 50% of the voters voted for these clowns even though congress has an extremely low approval rating. This is what the American people want.

If they wanted what you want, we could be assured that this will be reversed next election. You don't have enough support for your position. We are outnumbered.

What kind of green regulations to sell a house? My last house sale cost me radon, lead paint, asbestos and mold testing. I had to put in a $700 radon abatement system just to sell the house. People just need to build a house instead of forcing home sellers to practically rebuild an older home.
