With the New York Times calling for the resignation of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, it is imperative that we consider some deeper issues at play. Each political scandal is unique, and thus, they cannot all be treated as the same. It is time for cooler heads to prevail and to consider a more balanced approach to the Sanford situation than the knee-jerk reaction of the NYT.
Yes, he needs to resign. In addition to his personal failings, which compromised his office, he abandone3d his post and left his state in a precarious position.
We cannot afford to carry any GOP dead weight, we have to get rid of those who drag us down and look for replacements who possess the integrity to lead in the future. Otherwise we are no different than THEM.
Sure. The day after Charlie Rangle does for owning 4 rent controlled apartments, etc.
Let hinm go down like Blagojevich ... it will be a much bigger stain than if he resigns!
Should Governor Sanford Resign?

Of course, that’s up to the people of his state. But, for sure, he should forget about being a Presidential Candidate, because that has to do with me, then... :-)
The only organizations who will benefit from his continued occupancy of the office will be the rats and the msm.
H*ll no, We are now living in a new age. If he votes with the conservatives keep him.
His wife says that he begged her to be allowed to go his lover.
Maybe he thinks that like King David be he should be allowed to have several wives and concubines.
In Stephanopolous’ book, he claimed the Clinton White House was most terrified about the polling that said 67% (I think, maybe 62%) of the American people wanted Clinton to resign not be impeached. So, they just stopped polling or reporting the resignation question.
You forgot Ted Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Chris Dodd, Marion Barry to name a few others.

I said “and many others.” Can’t name them all. It would take up too much bandwidth.
