I'll just remind everyone that when Stephanie Tubbs Jones was reported to be slumped over her car steering wheel at midnight, they didn't report that she had died of a brain aneurysm until the next morning.

Sometimes, they want to wait to get the family affairs in order, get them assembled before the media frenzy begins, etc.

That’s what they did with Natasha Richardson. They actually flew her back to New York so that her family could say Goodbye. I’m thinking that is what is happening here.
