That’s a great article by John O’Sullivan—thanks. He reports that Maggie was still honing her political skills until she was 52, then to become PM at 54. I’d say Sarah Palin at 45, already an accomplished speaker and with an extensive and successful record in executive government office, is doing just fine, thank you.

As with all of our truly great leaders - Jefferson, Madison, Reagan and Thatcher, Sarah Palin will err at times. But like the aforementioned quartet when she does slip she will shoulder the blame, react wisely, learn from the experience, and keep focused on her goals.
And I believe that Palin is in the class of publicly elected leaders that the three gentlemen and the British lady were.
