The best & the brightest on the left go into politics. The best on the right run their own businesses. So it is no surprise that the left is far more adept, even expert at the art of hardball politics. And they are telling us something profound.
The left is telling us something many feel, many find as a hunch, that Sarah Palin is the most dangerous threat to the Øbama administration with no close second. The left is telling us this by their "over the top" attacks. Not just the Letterman assaults, but the constant barrage of grievances filed against her in Alaska. The attacks every day on Palin for no apparent reason -- except that the left seems to see her quite differently from any Republican candidate. A difference of kind, not of degree.
No. IBMs colossal stupidity coupled with Gate's dad who was a pretty damn sharp IP lawyer helped a lot.
Raising minimum wage causes job losses and harms the economy. Like Marxists, your conceptualization of economics is concrete—you view it as composed of static entities. Such distortion will cause you to be wrong every time.
Lower taxes, and regular everyday people will be paid decent wages. Raise minimum wage, and many of them will lose their jobs. Why would you wish economic harm to individuals, and to the country?
(Funny—you’re a conservative but all your positions are far left.)
Governor Palin understands this very well.
Conservative? All the while supporting obama economic policies and talking points?
There's not one conservative statement you've made in this post.
How'd you manage to last on FR for so long?
Conservative? All the while supporting obama economic policies and talking points?
Funny, I don’t remember supporting all of BO’s economic policies. I think some of them are just as stupid as the GOP’s. Its like everybody sees the rich as people to be bailed out, while the average person and the poor folks suffer.
What in the world is “trickle down” if it isn’t a new form of worship of the aristocracy???? Let the rich have more money and they’ll save us all???? Its crazy.
Do you think Jefferson would have been in favor of tickle down, or in favor of common people?
parsy, who thinks tickle down is like, well, not rain that trickling down.
And another thing. Why don’t you go out and google “trickle down economics” and read about it. It appears to have never worked.
Look up “horse and sparrow” too. That was apparently the original name, the idea being if you fed enough oats to the horse, some would pass thru to the sparrow.
The problem with many conservatives is the same problem liberal had back in the 60’s. You have forgotten how to think. You repeat the same old canards over and over and never really bother to try to understand them.
If conservatism is ever going to take over as THE theory again, conservatives are going to have to start confronting their own ideas, particularly in the economic area. I think we’ll be ok on gun rights, and a strong defense. Those are pretty hard to screw up on.
But on economics, conservatives and particulalry GOPers, need to confront this God-awful love affair with the rich and with big business. If it ain’t struck home yet, that the GOP has been dead wrong on economics, then maybe you check into the Janet Reno Moron Rehabilatation Program. (Remember how after Waco, she said she would have done nothing different?)
Same here. The GOP has had its way (with the help of most Dems, too) to de-regulate the financial markets and look where it has us. 5 or 6 trillion bucks out??? And you don’t think someone needs to be rechecking their premises???
parsy, who tries to keep an open mind and learn new things.
Spoken like a true liberal/socialist without any connection to reality and common sense.
Google trickle down. Read some of the stories and articles. Then come back and tell me why adhering to stupid ideas is good for conservatism.
Better yet, go out and find some rich person and give them your money. Ask them to take care of you.
parsy, who wonders why we think we have to worship the rich.
