Since when do we let the left define who our candidate is, or should be?

We did in the 2008 election. We got McWalk-Across-the-Aisle and were resoundedly beaten for it.

I voted for Palin and the white-haired dude.

I don’t slobber. I may drool from time to time, but the bib protects things. I don’t fear Palin. I am more afraid FOR her if she don’t kick it up a notch. Mexicans are actually kidnapping people out of America, and importing tons of drugs in. The Canadiens have loosed Celine Dion on the world.

And for proof, just read what I have provided you. If you don’t get it, others will. Your candidate will grow or she will be marginalized out of politics.

parsy, who can’t do your thinking for you.

The only way to be offended by the backpack comment (and then to attempt retaliation by absurdly labeling the comment “ditzy”) is if you are from the liberal elitist subculture, among those who really do send their kids off to Europe with a backpack, believing it will somehow bring authenticity to their Godless lives.

I believe Palin was expressing the idea that liberal elitists such as Couric, who try to portray middle Americans as ignorant hicks and hayseeds because they don’t tend to take vacations in Paris or Amsterdam, are themselves living the most inauthentic and empty lives.

The backpack comment was a subtle yet brilliant message, spoken boldly and demonstrating Palin’s independent thinking.

Maybe your definition of intelligence is ability to follow the herd?

Russia, a nuclear nation with ongoing aggressive military posturing, is a true geopolitical actor unlike Canada or Mexico (and is visible from Alaska).

Sarah Palin = Governor of Alaska.

Governor = Chief Executive.

Are you saying you can’t connect the dots from there? Don’t tell me you’re as ditzy as the average Democrat, or heaven forbid—Couric herself?

I am not offended by backpacks. I just found the comment sorta out of place. And ditzy. I can’t be a snob. I’m from Arkansas and have a trailer. Subculture-—I ain’t never been on a sub, although the USS Razorback is anchored over in North Little Rock.

parsy, who is far from being a follower.

If that passes for foreign policy credentials for you, what can I say. It reminds me of a fellow I knew who picked up chicks in a bar by telling them he was a corporate president. He was, too. Fifty bucks to set up a corporation and ten bucks for business cards.

If living in Alaska, which is located next to Russia, lights your bulb as foreign policy experience, then you are easly impressed.

parsy, who used to live in Fairbanks, which is next to Russia.

I don't consider running or winning elected office to be a 'conservative accomplishment'. Plenty of politicians have done this.

She has fought for lower taxes, ethical government, less spending, and sound energy policies

If you want to nit-pick and get into details, then do your own research. But this is classic Big Picture conservatism as espoused by Reagan. That's good enough for me.

I thought that in this day and age, there would be at least one website that might have the details. I get the feeling this whole Palin thing is a novelty act.

Oh please, shall we rehash the biden “FDR went on TV in 1929” or Obamoa’s”I’ve been to 57 states and still have three more to go” stuff?

Gov Palin’s path to the presidency lays in Obamao’s failure, and even then, perhaps it is a bit soon to rely on that, the best that Gov Palin can do is to offer alternatives to Obamao’s Socialism, and explain “why” her alternatives are better then Obamao’s socialism.

IMO, it will be impossible to defeat Obamao on style, he will lose on substance, the Conservative who best elocute’s substance will be our next candidate, be it Gov Palin, Mitt, or the Gov of Utah or whomever.

Wagner's Parsifal was a fool, are you one? You come across as a very insecure person, therefore you are switching sides when politically expedient.

I suggest that you do some soul searching and stick with your principles if you have any...

Best to you

Palin’s potential foreign policy strengths are defined by the whole picture, not just her experience as Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard and Alaska’s proximity to our greatest enemy from the last half century (which is nonetheless quite significant and contrasts Obama’s pre-election experience like 1 contrasts 0).

If your desperation to find something—anything—to criticize Palin obstructs your ability to understand her unmatched potential, you are either a pathetic follower like most liberals or you have secondary interests which you cannot disclose.

I don’t get it. I hear anti Palin trash all of the time. Of course im on a college campus which feels like a vaccum away from society. what could people possibly have against Governor Palin ?

She was so popular after her speech at the RNC last year. I always thought a first impression is what mattered most. what changed ?

To post 11 - Smearing maligning and outright lying about Sarah Palin will not attract one single person to the insignificant irrelevant and desperate AIP.

Enjoy your sour grapes, I understand worms love them too.

Palin’s support among conservatives is increasing, if anything. That’s what matters in the long run.

There will always be certain numbers of people who base their opinions of her on everything but the facts about Sarah Palin.

You sound like a Leftist. I brought up deep policy differences I have with Governor Palin, those that have to do with the unalienable right to life and its protection, the balance of powers between our branches of government, the power grab by the global elites represented by the phony global warming scam, and the protection of our sovereign borders and the rule of law.

Leftists always consider discussion of principle and telling the truth to be "smears." Such accusations are the only ammo they have.

I soul searched before I switched. I first voted in 1972 for Nixon. Stayed GOP for nearly 30 years. When Bush chose the credit card companies over individual Americans, I had enough of the stupidity. Now 5 or 6 years later, we finally realize how predatory the finance people were.

No, the GOP is the party of the rich, and if they get back into power without doing their own soul searching, they will continue to make two Americas, the haves and the have nots. America has “worked” because most Americans have always felt like they had a fair shot.

Look how fast the GOP jumped to bail out Wall Street. 700 Billion? No sweat. Can’t have some rich folks have to obtain honest work. Do you think the GOP would have spent one tenth that to help average Americans?

Conservatives need IMHO to figure out what their principles are and ask why they have been so durn bound up with big business and the rich. About 90% of what motivates GOP is lower taxes and to he** with average Americans. Otherwise intelligent people have preached such utter tripe as increases in minimum wages will be offset by higher prices, yet I have net met anyone, GOP or Dem who ever turned down their own raises.

No, the GOP has been rightly called the stupid party, and if this most recent financial meltdown hasn’t clued you in, you need to do some soul searching. I do not say this in a mean way, because I was once where you are.

Conservatism is at heart common sense applied to politics. Concentration of power, whether into gov’t or into big business, is a bad thing. A refusal to face reality is just as wrong for a GOPer who refuses to address living wages as a Dem who thinks increasing the incentive to have illegitimate children is ok.

parsy, who appreciates your input.

“what motivates GOP is lower taxes and to he** with average Americans”

This comment also blows your cover.

Actually this might be an opportunity for you to gain understanding here. The fact that you actually believe the above statement shows 1) you are a liberal and 2) like other liberals you don’t understand conservatism.

Take a moment and reflect on these things. Most importantly, let your curiosity guide you. There’s still a chance it could save you from the grip of liberalism.
