She has her good points. I like her. I think she is able to grow. I simply pointed out that she needs to tighten up the old cerebrum so the next time she runs she doesn’t come off sounding like a ditz.

Really do we ned to hear about her not going backpacking in Europe and what other kids did when asked about her passport. A simple, “Between working and raising young children, I just haven’t had the time to travel as much as i would like.” would have answered the question without the ditzy language.

Same with the Russia question.

But you know, it is really up to you in the GOP. If you don’t want your candidates sounding more polished and answering questions in a more intelligent fashion. If you don’t expect your candidates to do their homework, hey go for it. The democrats will produce a conservative candidate sometime in the next few elections.

parsy, who really didn’t think his observations were all that controversial.

I like her, but I think she’s been too thoroughly damaged by the negligence of the McCain campaign combined with the constant negative spin from the Hussein/left wing propaganda machine in the media to have any chance of winning a national election.

Posh! Even George W. Bush got re-elected after withering negativity from the MSM. Sarah is much more like Ronald Reagan in her positive outlook, and she's already shown she's NOT shy about fighting back.

Thanks Nit, I’m so glad you got to see her and her family, and up close too!

Again I like her but we need an almost historical figure to come out and lead us against the Marxist take over of American..She’s not it.

Sarah's MAKING history, every day. Whenever she decides to make the jump, she, and we, will be ready.

Couric did not ask the question because she wanted to know what Supreme Court decisions Palin disagreed with. She asked it to trap Palin.

This fact disqualifies any hope Couric ever had for credibility and renders the interview meaningless. Get me a journalist who wants to elicit facts, not one who wants to push her own personal political agenda.

Palin’s answer does not tell us anything about her level of intelligence.

Couric, again, is trying to trap Palin into suggesting she doesn’t want to help middle class families. The question starts off with a premise, and then proceeds with distracting details.

What a disgrace, Couric—and all of mainstream media for that matter.

I say there’s nothing of substance in this example that gives any credibility to your claim. If you disagree then go ahead, describe the deficit in her intelligence portrayed in this example. Be specific, because I will demand it if you are not.

I just don’t see it right now. Honestly, could you watch that interview and not feel that Palin was out of her league?,

Would you like to outline your credentials that makes you such an expert of judging Gov. Palin potentials in the political arena?.

Maybe you should volunteer to her campaign and feed some of that sooper dooper wisdom of yours to help the Gov. win in 2012, instead just trashing her short comings.

I can’t rewire your axons and neurons without permission. Whatever Couric’s motives are, and I am sure they are nefarious, Palin rambles and dissembles all over the place. You either see it or you don’t. If Hillary gave answers like these, we would be all over her.

parsy, who thinks you need to read the answers out loud for impact

I’m just real smart and can see whats right before my eyes. Tina Fey’s impressions would not have been so funny if they had not been so dead on accurate.

A lot of people felt the same way or the skits would not have been so popular. Palin is probably already working with experts to reshape her image away from ditziness. I hope she pullsit off and think she has the ability to do so.

If she isn’t, then you GOPers need to start twittering her and emailing her to get on the ball. Learn to speak in English, with well formed sentences, and leave out some of the goofy stuff, like Russia is a big place, etc.

parsy, who thinks that constructive criticism ought to appreciated.

So far, you’ve shown how desperate Couric was to trap Palin, and the response by Palin in which she sounds maybe a little distracted, but it demonstrates no particular intellectual deficits and you are unable to come up with any.

I would suggest you try to understand your own thoughts before pushing your political agenda in this forum.

A little distracted? Please go to youtube and web and watch and read some of her responses. I didn’t want to copy everything the woman said to this thread, but the oneabout Russia and the aide who worked at fannie mae, and Mccains reforms were bordering on idiotic.

Pretty please go watch them and read them.

parsy, who thinks it will be clear to you.

You’re not very convincing. Part of the problem is you follow the token lines about hoping Palin improves or thinking she has ability with comments revealing an undercurrent of intense rage and hatred for Palin:

“ditziness”

“Learn to speak in English”

“leave out the goofy stuff”

and here’s the real giveaway: Tina Fey’s impressions were “so dead on accurate”

But you’re also “real smart,” huh?

It was so bad that when I was trying to find transcripts I almost posted this, thinking it was real:

Katie Couric - Thank you for being here, Governor Palin.

Sarah Palin - I’m all about being here.

Katie Couric - Are you and John McCain in favor of this $700 billion bailout?

Sarah Palin - I’m totally in favor of supporting the troops. My son is a troop.

Katie Couric - Right. But I’m asking about the bailout proposal for Wall Street.

Sarah Palin - You sure are. You betcha.

Katie Couric - So are you in favor of it?

Sarah Palin - Reform needs to be in the Wall Street. Not just sittin’ on the curb of Wall Street. We need it in the middle of the street. Like a dead squirrel.

I don’t know how to link but it is from open salon . com and the rest of it is hilarious. It was so close to how she was answering Couric, I nearly posted it here. I had it copied and was just about to paste when I saw the dead squirrel thing.

Thats pretty bad. And I don’t hate Palin. I don’t have rage toward her. I like her and think she will improve with time. But she can’t afford to ignore the image she got and address it.

And, yeah, when she starts rambling on about backpacking and stuff like that, thats ditzy and goofy.

parsy, who is going to post the backpack thing next.

What about Russia?

What about an aide who worked at fannie mae?

What about McCain’s reforms?

I think you’re afraid to try, because you know I will come back and beat you.

For someone who makes as many posts as you have done, while trying so hard, insisting and repeating and insisting and repeating that Palin has some kind of problem (that you have no idea how to describe), you sure don’t have much, do you?

Here’s idiotic for you: Idiotic is stating there are 57 states. Idiotic is saying 10,000 people died in the Kansas tornado when only about 12 did. Idiotic is not knowing how to pronounce “Orion.”

Idiotic is stating that both China and Japan have “surpassed” the U.S. regarding fuel economy standards when neither country mandates these standards.

I’m just real smart and can see whats right before my eyes.

Wow...you don't say!...now, you still did not answer my question. Why don't you volunteer to help out Gov. Palin campaign to win the WH in 2012?
You just gave me some nonsense drivel about SNL skits and Gov. Palin bad English. How about some constructive recommendations?.

Couric: In preparing for this conversation, a lot of our viewers … and Internet users wanted to know why you did not get a passport until last year. And they wondered if that indicated a lack of interest and curiosity in the world.

Palin: I’m not one of those who maybe came from a background of, you know, kids who perhaps graduate college and their parents give them a passport and give them a backpack and say go off and travel the world.

No, I’ve worked all my life. In fact, I usually had two jobs all my life until I had kids. I was not a part of, I guess, that culture. The way that I have understood the world is through education, through books, through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective on the world.

Couric: You’ve cited Alaska’s proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

Sarah Palin: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land-boundary that we have with Canada. It’s funny that a comment like that was kinda made to … I don’t know, you know … reporters.

Couric: Mocked?

Palin: Yeah, mocked, I guess that’s the word, yeah.

Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials.

Palin: Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there…

Couric: Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

Palin: We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there, they are right next to our state.

This is starting to get bizarre. Lets see, Texas is next to a foreign country, Mexico. New York and Maine. Florida. North Dakota, etc. And she thinks this is “experience.”

C’mon, this is not Palin’s finest moment. I watched her in the debate with Biden and thank God they had her cleaned up lot by that time, but Lord it was scary. In fairness to her, they threw her into the national arena a bit early.

parsy, who doesn’t think that it should be this hard to pick up on.

First of all, I left the GOP when Bush signed the Bankruptcy Reform Bill. After 30 years, I had enough. The stupidity had become too much. Plus, as a Democrat I get to vote a whole lot of times!

Palin probably already has experts on her team to help her. If not, I would be more than glad to offer my services. She will ask for my credentials. I will respond that I was too busy working two jobs, until i had kids, and i didn’t get to get credentials like some kids you know whose parents sent them off to get credentials but i do have some experience with credential because Arkansas is next to Texas where a lot of people have credentials. . .

parsy, who is being a little sarcastic here

I saw the interview around the time it came out. There’s nothing there.

The only way to see “ditziness” or substandard intellect is if you are waiting and hoping to see it, panting and slobbering, before the interview even starts, because you are deathly afraid of Palin’s political potential and you desperately want to find weakness where it doesn’t exist.

Mexico and Canada are not potential nuclear threats. (Is this really that complicated for you?)

You have yet to give specific examples and explain how they support your claim. Give it a try. Maybe you can pull something out of the quotes you’ve provided so far.

Don’t be threatened by fears of your own intellectual shortcomings.
