I’m familiar with the “new PC” language, and have met quite a few truly radical feminists. I’ve also met some men who feel a woman’s place is in the home-and she should go there directly after work.
My feeling: Don’t sweat the small stuff.
There are more important issues out there to be concerned with.
Oh, I see. You finally get it pointed out to you ONCE, so you assume, without having noticed it before, that it must not be a trend, that it is “small stuff.” With no knowledge if the charge is meaningful or silly, you’ve decided to pronounce?
I love it when people with no knowledge at all about something decide they have a worthy opinion.
Any look at university writing would show that the male pronoun has been dispensed with despite proper and common English usage. A study of many thousands of news stories also shows this propensity. Feminism HAS indeed invaded the illiterati in an attempt to change the language to their ideology.
But, if to you a destruction of our culture and that culture being supplanted by a leftist ideology is “the small stuff,” what, pray tell, IS the “big stuff” to you?
...or is the cancellation of your favorite TV show far more important to you? Maybe you only have room in your head for meaningless, low-brow sports statistics?
Now, the bigger question is, why someone such as yourself is even on a politically right leaning website? After all... this stuff is all such “small stuff” to sweat!
That's not my feeling. While some things are more important, that doesn't mean what feminists do is unimportant. Changing the culture by changing the language to suit their whims is not unimportant. Meeting some men who don't like women out of the house is not an argument for feminists changing the language to suit their leftist agenda.
