I was driving home when I learned he had passed away.
I pulled over to the side of the road and cried.

Originally I supported George H.W. Bush because I did not think Reagan could win in the general election. I have never been more happy in my life to have been wrong.

I have learned my lesson. No more Rhinos!!

I did go knocking door to door for Reagan. So I hope I atoned for my error at least partially.

The other day, when Mrs.Reagan was at a press conference with Obummer, I had an odd and unexpected reaction, I started crying. Not sobbing, but choked up, shed a few tears. I think it was the sight of seeing her all old and frail, being touched by a person who is the opposite of her departed husband. O was keeping her steady with her arm on his. This did not sit well with me.

I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard on the radio that Ronald Reagan was gone. That whole week of the state funeral was very moving. Finally, at the last televised event at the Reagan Library, when Mrs.Reagan would not leave the casket, that was it for me, I wept as if I had personally known them both. It still moves me to tears to remember their love for eachother.

Ronaldus Magnus, still my favorite president. My hero’s have always been cowboys. RIP Mr.President.

I still have Rush’s tribute to Reagan that was part of The Limbaugh Letter. It is stored with other sentimental treasures.

I feel the same. Have you read her book "My Turn", I know it was written long ago, but I just finished it. She is quite a lady, and in the reading, you would think you could just go to their house and have a cup of coffee, they were very down to earth.

I would also suggest the book of his love letters to Nancy. Priceless.

I was in Rockport, MA that day with my GF, it was a beautiful spring Saturday. I remember reading a blurb on Drudge about RR’s failing health the day before, so I surmised the end was near. My Mom called me and told me the news around ~6 pm. I just started weeping uncontrollably. We left and drove home. I remember WRKO had a special call-in segment that we were listening to on the ride back and I called in and told the host, I think it was Scott Allen Miller, how I felt fortunate to be living in America while RR was president.

I still feel that way - he is still the best.

I have not yet read “My Turn”. I have “Ronnie and Nancy, A Very Special Love Story”. Also have “Reagan, In His Own Hand” a collection of his writings. I was in college when President Reagan was in office. I was not yet politically aware. I did like him though, he reminded me of my grandfather. President Reagan was easy to like. After his passing, I found the website for his presidential library. There are very nice casual photographs of President and Mrs.Reagan. I printed out a bunch of them. I have horses, and of course President Reagan did too. I especially like the pictures of him with his horses. I am glad he and I shared that love for horses. The website is www.reaganfoundation.org . There are lots of neat things to see there. I hope to visit the Reagan Library someday.

I forgive you .

BTW , I worked the phones as a volunteer for the Suffolk County Repubs in Blue Point , Long Island for the 1980 campaign . Very gratifying and rewarding experience . Really felt my humble effort made a difference .
