Or when he tried the “eskimo ice cream” in Alaska. Apparently its a real “food” but please. Oh and he hated it.

I’d believe they punk’d him. Personally, I still believe that haggis is a joke played by Scots on unsuspecting tourists, so I could certainly get behind this theory.

A question I have often pondered, my FRiend. I have no idea how Zimmern chokes down some of that stuff.
I think at times, it might be a set-up.

One of the funnier episodes was when he tried eating “stinky tofu”. He couldn’t do it. When you actually make Andrew Zimmern retch you’ve done a good job. He actually congratulated the woman who had made it.

ZOMG, Hebert’s ... my brother-in-law introduced us to the slice of heaven that is Hebert’s last Christmas. The stuffed shrimp, the stuffed chicken ... I have no words. MARVELOUS, and worth every penny.

I think it was Bourdain, and I think it was Uganda, and I think it was wild pig rectum. That’s good TV there.

Yeah, I think it had been dipped in the water run off from old socks and left to sit and ferment for a week. There's also a weird fruit from the Philippines ( I think) that he can't eat.

Ah, that would be the durian. It’s supposed to smell rotten but taste great. I have no idea how that happens, because I’ve always been taught that smell and taste work together.

So do you think Andrew Zimmern is being scammed by the locals playing a giant practical joke on him. Have never seen the show. However I would not doubt it.
My Appalachian relatives are not above putting on a show when some city slickers stops by. It makes for some fine entertainment. Better then cow tipping!

I live deep in the heart of Tennessee and I have never heard of eating possum. My daughter lives in the Appalatian mountains and they don’t eat possum there either. I think the dumb stereotypes hyped and spread by the media have stuck.
