Make sure your 2nd Amendment hardware is among those possessions.
... The Census Bureau will launch a massive operation on March 30 to verify and update more than 145 million addresses as it prepares to conduct the 2010 Census...
Doesn't the US Postal Service verify addresses? Why not talk to them?
Couple this data with voter registration lists (esp. party affiliation) and you could gerrymander some very useful district maps.
Couple this data with web-forum postings, handles, and IP address data, and you could easily correlate a pretty effective “who needs indoctrination” list.
“The snot nosed kid said he was a government employee and didnt have to observe signs. The sheriff informed him otherwise.”
Nice. First thing that made me smile on this thread. Can you press charges?
Same here. Not really sticks, rural with farmlands and a few developments.
I saw the census person when she pulled into the driveway. She told me they had to mark every persons address onto the GPS device; not exactly sure why other than something to do with the general census.
This does not seem like relevant issue to me. I can type my address into google maps and get the lat/long for my front door without GPS. So whats the big deal!?!?!
Maybe it’s folks finally putting two and two together.
The only legit reason I can think of is so the GPS in our cars can deliver us to the proper destination.
Funny story.. :) Glad it was your friend the last time. I’m not going to worry about it. I remember my dad being forced to answer a lot of personal questions by some lady in HIS livingroom back in the 70’s. I distinctly remember him asking her if he has to answer that question.. she nodded her head “yes”. He was livid. They should be truthful..we don’t have to really answer.
Thanks for the info!
You can already do that by simply typing in an address.
That website contains a lot between the lines. Will take a while to figure out what...
If you use Google Earth and try to see our home all you can see is two old potato sheds since replaced and lots of old trees which act as perfect camouflage to our very small, modest 80+ year old farm house. At this point, I am too tired and hurting to even care.
The Google Maps address results are frequently wrong (my home included), having been derived from whatever public data could be used.
This operation makes your coordinates exact and official.
They were here about 2 weeks ago, and yes they held a PDA type device and handed me a(2010)Census notification. I know/knew nothing about this GPS information at the time or I would have questioned them.
It may not be worthy of a tin-foil type conspiracy theory...but it's not bullsh*t either....THEY LIVE!(heh)
I know, so there is really no legit reason now.
Yep, demand an Id, and take their information, my front step was GPSed, and next few days a group of census takers in training stopped by
They are not marking anything on anyone’s house. The are merely coordinating home addresses with GPS locations. The idea being that in the future they can use sat imagery to compare what they have listed for addresses with what shows up in the pictures. One of the reasons why this is important is to determine what community a particular home is in.
This article is way over the top.
Just curious ... do you know what we DO have to answer? Constitutionally mandated census ... it is just number of people in the house? I assume ages, etc., is more than is strictly necessary?
