GOP Chairman Michael Steele Calls Limbaugh Comments "Incendiary and Ugly" - Video 2/28/09

Here is video of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele talking with CNN's D.L. Hughley last night, and calling comments made by Rush Limbaugh during his speech to CPAC "incendiary and ugly." Steele said Limbaugh is not the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and that he is an "entertainter."

This is exactly the point Rush Limbaugh was trying to make in his speech. Republicans need to stop worrying about what the D.L. Hughley's think! They will never like conservatives or Republicans, because they are liberals! Steele should not have disavowed, in effect, what Rush said. He should have hammered home the core principles set forth by Limbaugh in his speech. . . . . (Watch Video)

I was hoping Steele would give me reason to start donating again to the RNC, after I cut them off a few years ago.

Guess not.

Does nomination for the GOP top slot come with an automatic spine removal?

The leader of the GOP should be selected by ideology, not affirmative action and race appeasement. Colin Powell and Steele show that race trumps all.

Rush was wonderful and positive and very encouraging last night; I didn’t see a single “incendiary” thing in his talk

Rush looked a little tired, but even tired he was truly great. He spoke from the heart and a true conservative. I admire him so much and listen to wisdom that comes for a remarkable human being. What he says is from his heart and that to me is so much better than the hype we get from liars like King Obama.

Who cares about ammo for the left? They are going to disagree with most anything the right (conservatives) puts out, I believe it is part of their platform (sarc).

As for RUSH’s speech I would guess you are not a true conservative because there was several messages and themes he gave. I did not have any problem receiving the messages as I would guess by the action of the audience there were many more in tune with his message. So my guess is your point of view is far from conservative?

About Rush looking tired: I think we forget how difficult it must be for him to speak before a raucous crowd like this. How awful it must be to speak and be hearing impaired. His cochlear implant just magnifies outside noises, so just another reason his speech was so magnificent.

Rush is never the victim - just another reason I love him.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/28/video-13-year-old-defines-conservatism-at-cpac-gets-standing-ovation/

It is sad and pitiful that 13 year old Jonathan Krohn, who addressed the CPAC Convention this week, actually knows a hell-of-a-lot more about being a principled conservative than our party chairman. I am so sick and tired of the RINOS that infest the Republican Party and who have no clue as to what we should stand for. They only care about face time on any of the MSM news/talk shows that will have them. When they start thinking about the grunts in the party and forget about themselves, then we will become a force to recon with. As for Steele and Rush, Steele is jealous of Rush, pure and simple. He doesn’t understand that if he would only live it instead of giving it lip service in order to be elected to the party Chairman, we would walk over hot coals for him and save this country from the likes of Obama, Reid and the Princess. But I don’t think that will ever happen. Not with Michael Steele in charge anyway...

Perhaps we should take up a collection and buy Steele a CLUE!

WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD TAKE THIS UP AND PUT TOGETHER ALL THE INFO WE NEED AND START A MAILING CAMPAIGN (PERSONALLY) TO THE STEELE AND THE RNC, IN WHICH WE WOULD ALL MAIL HIM A "DIME" AND WE COULD CALL IT THE "THERE'S NOT A DIME'S WORTH OF DIFFERENCE" MOVEMENT AS IN BETWEEN THE RNC, THE AVOWED RINO'S AND THE DEMOCRATS???

AND AS AN ASIDE, WE COULD INFORM THE GOOD MR. STEELE THAT HENCEFORTH, THE RNC WOULD NOT RECEIVE ANOTHER DIME UNTIL IT EMBRACED TRUE CONSERVATIVE VALUES???

Just a suggestion!!!

The replies to my comments were as my comments were, opinion. I thought the speech was vintage Rush that I listen too daily. My point is, if you do not listen to Rush and understand his style, I can see how his speech yesterday could be misinterpreted. There are a few things I disagree with Rush on, OC, was one big mistake IMHO. And now, his being made the de-facto (again IMHO) of the Republican party plays into the hands of the Dims. We have just become a “sideshow”. And that is my opinion. I enjoy his show, but we need, Romney, Palin, and Jindal out front.

I’m not a fan of Mr. Limbaugh’s program, but if he pissed off the GOP leadership, he’s doing something right.

It is past time for all conservatives to leave the Republican party behind, and, as difficult as it may be for some, reach some consensus to support a third party that supports the Constitution of the United States and the Republic unequivically.

My thoughts exactly. Here is a party that sounds very conservative and principled called The Falcon Party. Have you ever heard of them?
