“Ever since the boob - B. Hussain - took the oath of office; all my mail goes out with the American Flag upside down.”

<<<Easy and lowcost—I can do that too.

“2. I want to send message of my intense total displeasure with Washington’s lack of care to even bother READING the bill before voting (is there a lawsuit in the offing...?); the insult that they would think I would buy the sham that porkulus actually will stimulate the economy any time soon, and my my anger that I am not represented, etc. to Washington. I would also like to send message to MSM, their sponsors, etc. See my post about comments to Chicago (Liberal) Trib.”

AMEN! I wish there was one flag I could fly for this alone.

To pass a bill of that magnitude without even reading it is treasonous in my opinion. Every last one of them. And the Republicans just letting it go as a normal vote is just as treasonous.

“The revolution should take place in 2010 and 2012 at the voting booths across this nation.”

<<<Absolutely! I have wondered how many conservatives stayed home, how many uninformed moderates voted for O. Time to educate the masses and force MSM to stop worshipping and start reporting

“You do realize Obama took over the census, right? 2010 and 2012 won’t mean crap when the redistricting occurs.”

<<<I had heard that the resignation of Gregg may have brought this travesty to light—may not be too late to stop this—again, folks, what can we do?! Thots—maybe one of these organizations listed on thread will tackle it, maybe have to be FR...GOP (well, hope springs eternal). It is one of the things the general public needs to be educated on and this needs to be dealt with. Anyone know timeline on this issue?

We do not have time to wait for another election. They are posturing and maneuvering now for their next moves. Some do not have flag poles and those that do seem to be making a statement with theirs. We are going to have to start with ideas that we have seen and heard and begin to make our feelings known. Some people could wear black arm bands some would not be able to with their jobs. As we begin to do things something will spark just like the yellow ribbons, and support our troops symbols. I personally will put black ribbons everywhere I go on whatever I can. When I am in a store I turn every magazine around with his picture on it. Prayer is still the ultimate God is in control but we can help out

It's an old GIF from when I designed the flag pole.

I feel that we should chose one symbol for our protests something we all can rally behind that is easy to find get or even make that quite honestly has a been of history and we are willing to defend.

To me at least the First Continental Naval Jack or the Striped Rattlesnake flag fills that need quite nicely.

Our Government is treading on the rights of all Americans, they are treading on our constitution, they are treading on the memory of our greatest president and they are treading on the futures of our children and it is time to stand up and say we will not be tread upon.

The similarly worded Gadsden flag does not have the same imagery, for one it's yellow, never a good choice for a flag color as a standard in front of a crowd, that and Yellow is all too often seen in the banners of International ANSWER.

But I wanted to use the Rattlesnake symbol and here is why:

Borrowed from this site

In December 1775, "An American Guesser" anonymously wrote to the Pennsylvania Journal:

"I observed on one of the drums belonging to the marines now raising, there was painted a Rattle-Snake, with this modest motto under it, 'Don't tread on me.' As I know it is the custom to have some device on the arms of every country, I supposed this may have been intended for the arms of America."

This anonymous writer, having "nothing to do with public affairs" and "in order to divert an idle hour," speculated on why a snake might be chosen as a symbol for America.

First, it occurred to him that "the Rattle-Snake is found in no other quarter of the world besides America."

The rattlesnake also has sharp eyes, and "may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance." Furthermore,

"She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her."

Finally,

"I confess I was wholly at a loss what to make of the rattles, 'till I went back and counted them and found them just thirteen, exactly the number of the Colonies united in America; and I recollected too that this was the only part of the Snake which increased in numbers. ...

"'Tis curious and amazing to observe how distinct and independent of each other the rattles of this animal are, and yet how firmly they are united together, so as never to be separated but by breaking them to pieces. One of those rattles singly, is incapable of producing sound, but the ringing of thirteen together, is sufficient to alarm the boldest man living."

Many scholars now agree that this "American Guesser" was Benjamin Franklin.

The writing of the same man that coined the term Join or die.

A call for unity among Patriots when they we at their weakest, when all seemed against them and when they had lost so much.

"I’m thinking maybe this can be my facebook profile pic! I think there are several here that would work. There may be others on Facebook who are not on FR that could be reached as well as hopefully students. As far as getting off computer, could put it on a telephone pole—I am always seeing garage sale and weight loss flyers stapled on em, so likely legal...."

Sounds good to me. I say go for it!!

The GOP did nothing but bleat a little at this TRILLION DOLLAR bill being passed. Only one Republican spoke out about for 36 seconds and three GOP voted FOR it.

So I’m not sure what we can do. I’m trying not to give up.

That’s what I mean by “official”. 200 different symbols don’t mean anything, but if this is what Freepers are using to announce the solidarity, I’m in!

<<Yeah, I think it would be good for Jim Robinson to weigh in. If folks can agree on one, terrific. However, O is in this for long haul, and O had a bunch of symbols that evolved—plus websites, blogs, etc. I think I think 200 different symbols is better than none. Pick an official stance and let those that are not comfortable with it do what they can afford and are comfortable with.

The people in Congress do not care a thing about what we want or do, But He does not like dissent against him so if we begin to do something he will react. We might not like the way he does it but he will take dissent personal just like he has with Rush and Shawn.

<<I agree, whether there is something “official” from FR (waiting on JR reply to earlier post), or people join the other organizations that are organizing like Grassfire, or people just do what they can and are comfortable, I just feel like I for one want to not just sit by and watch this debacle continue on TV. If I fail, at least I tried. If I do nothing, I can’t live with myself.

That said, perhaps little can be done regarding stimulus except to try to repeal it and not allow the provisions (which we will become aware of over time) become permanent, but since we know about the census, maybe we can do something about that. Anyone hear anything about lawsuits being filed regarding census or acorn for that matter.

Well I’d give up if I had somewhere else to go, but seems nowhere in US—so unless I am ready to move to New Zealand? Australia? wherever?, I am not ready to just give up.

Regarding the Senate GOP Performance. Whatever happened to Term Limits idea?

How about

Photobucket

You know, the whole idea behind the tea party was about taxation without representation. While we have 'alleged' representation, they don't listen to us, so in a sense we still have no representation.

The cockade idea is a good one, usmcobra.

During the Civil War women made distinctive cockades for their men - on both sides - to wear into battle. Troops would muster in various towns before embarking and the ladies would come out to the train stations and give cockades to wear. Making cockades gives women a stake in the game.

Perhaps the ladies here on FR could come up with designs for each state and sell them to make a few bucks. Cockades would give us identity and begin establishing unit cohesion amongst the various individuals in the many states. We need that.

Maybe you could run the idea past the ladies who manage FReeper Canteen and see if they might run a thread asking for ideas and submissions of cockades. I believe they have the organization and skills to do this.

I think you should suggest it because it’s your idea. Besides, it’s a good one. I think I already said that. :-)

Hmmmm? What say you...

Thanks! I have to admit, I really like it :)

I will send this—I am going to send one to my Repub. Congresswoman (who voted against stimulus)as well. I am hoping it will end up on her bulletin board. Not sure what the Dim senators will do with it.

If things remain a mess which is probably the natural course at this point, many will rethink their voting preference, regarding party lines. I have seen it happen in three cases over the past year in a heavily fortified Philadelphia area.
Long time demos starting to get educated by the Internet most often and seeing they don't like what they see on the far left side of the equation. By 2010 the stigma attached to GWB will be past. We may just see a re-alignment of voters that wish to see a better governed America. There is a chance this will come to be. Time will tell. I taint got a crystal ball.
