It is still a good question. There is likely evidence out there. I doubt all evidence of a white American giving birth in Kenya in the early 1960's has been destroyed. Photos, entry and departure records, airline records, hospital records, letters, postage markings of letters. This isn't an easy matter to really make go away.
I think that is why the records in Hawaii haven't been replaced. There is too much potential for refutation.

If it happened, why hasn't any of this evidence surfaced?
I suspect the family was trying to keep something quiet, but it wouldn't have been a trip to Kenya.
People are looking at this through the wrong end of the telescope, as though the family knew in 1961 that the baby would grow up to run for president.
