I like this guy! Looks like a fearless workaholic newcomer in the mold of Paul Wellstone, but without the insane lefty ideas.

What the Republican party needs is a road show with a team consisting of this guy, Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin and Ken Blackwell, the four horsemen of a bold, diverse, new Republican party. They could embark on a campaign of voter education and outreach, sort of like Hillary's famous "listening tour", but so much more.

Imagine the coverage if they sought out and publicized Democratic failures with publicity stunts, press conferences, rallies, panel discussions, and audience Q-&-A sessions. Just once in a while, like every other month, so people don't get bored with a permanent campaign. But often enough that people get used to the idea, and look forward to seeing where they'll pop up next.

They could, for example, take a television crew and show up at Chris Dodd's home one Sunday morning early, knock on the door and ask why he hasn't coughed up his sweetheart mortgage loan documents from Countrywide. It would be guaranteed to make headlines.

Then they all four go on a popular Connecticut Sunday talk show, and leverage their publicity stunt into a serious discussion of the Democratic failings of CRA, Fannie and Freddie, and fresh new Republican solutions therefor.

A factory moving overseas could be the impetus for a rally and press conference decrying destructive union featherbedding and publicizing "card check".

If a hospital closes, it could allow them to focus on the burden that uncontrolled illegal immigration places on our health care system, and push for an expanded MSA program.

They could show up at a Romanian orphanage where children are shivering in the cold because of the natural-gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, distribute warm clothing, and follow up with a joint appearance on Meet the Press so Sarah could push for energy independence, exploration, and the trans-Canada pipeline.

Or consider a fundraising skeet shoot in a state like North Dakota or Vermont, where gun laws are almost nil but crime is low. The money raised would go to support the family of a sympathetic crime victim in Chicago who wasn't permitted to protect himself with a gun. Let our Four Horsemen participate in the shoot, deliver the money in person, and then go to the Illinois Legislature to demand they comply with Heller and follow the example of the forty-plus other states that have successfully liberalized concealed weapons permits.

They could have an occasional special on Fox, or perhaps on Pajamas TV. I think it would become even more popular and talked about than America's Most Wanted or that show where they trap child molesters. It would certainly keep our beloved Sarah in the public eye, and raise the profile of the others.
