Talk about your single issue FReeper! And after all his temper tantrums and rude comments, he still can’t brag about getting banned. Poor, poor Soliton.

Too add to your observations, godless liberals think they own science, indeed all things public.

To get in a hissy-pissy fit over a Religion thread is most certainly stupid. To opus out is even worse.

I stay the hell away from Religion threads.

They suck.

Although I did have quite a good time recenlty on this Religion thread: Knock down drag out open thread of all things precious to your doctrines and traditions.

I pinged Lazamataz with this comment:
Pinging my ol’ buddy Laz. Here’s a Religion thread where we’re allowed to post anything we want. Anything at all. Whooda thunk?

I even posted this comment: What I think I need to do is to post a comment so as to offend the Religion Moderator.

And if you notice......Comment #104 Removed by Moderator

In other words I found a Religion thread I could mock. Great fun. But for all the other Religion threads??? I stay away.

*dangit!* Sidney Greenfield = Sidney Greenstreet

That reminds me, I just picked the new Blu-Ray Collector's Edition of Casablanca.

The movie looks even better in Blu-Ray.

Right. Inmates. Asylum.

Well, hi there Coyoteman!

This is a great opportunity for you to answer the following question, which you have left unanswered for about 2 years now, after accusing Creationists of trying to overthrow the government and institute a theocracy in this thread.

Do you believe eliminating religion should be a main goal of working scientists?

Pretty easy yes or no answer there.

Logging out forever. May your particular version of religion reign

Oh, it will. "You don't have to believe in the things I believe in, but we'll watch the world and see what passes away."

I guess a few more million people needs to be slaughtered for not converting to Roman Catholism.

Can you provide backup for that number?

Did you know, for instance, that Islamofascists currently kill more people each year than were killed during the entire 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition?

Sure, some bad things have been done in the name of Christianity, but bringing up aberrations that are hundreds of years old is pretty silly.

Then as a sister in Jesus Christ, I have to tell you - GW Bush has let us down - especially in the closing days of his Administration.

One day, every tongue will was and every knee will bow to our real King - and you know this.

Also, I apologize if I have been hostile or rude. Christ would not want me to be so.

But, I say in my defense that I believe you have been a bit pig headed and would not listen to reason or even opposing viewpoints. You can say I am wrong. I will listen.

Take care.

It depends on what I’m accused of being pig headed or rude about. I can’t say that I’m wrong if I don’t know where you think I crossed the line.

So you're all for giving the Catholics an opportunity to catch up to the 100 Million + slaughtered by Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao on the alter of Communist Atheism and Secular Humanism? That's really damn kind of you.

I'll chime in here.

Do you believe eliminating religion should be a main goal of working scientists?

That's not their job. :)

If an individual scientist wants to engage supernaturalism, that is their choice.

Well said.

The thing is, Coyoteman doesn’t seem to have such reasonable and liberal (old definition) standards. I do suggest you check out the thread I referenced in my earlier post; in it he accuses Creationists of trying to make us a theocracy and predicts that once this theocracy is in place the government will ban certain lines of scientific inquiry outright. The sort of thing you would expect to see on DU, not FR.

Or on Darwin Central.

Some do. There's always been a vocal fringe in religion that want to prevent scientific research.

From Galileo to IVF to stem cell research.

Heck, I even remember reading a story or watching a news cast that featured some nutjub that wanted to stop the LHC from launching, because she believed we were "playing God" or some other such nonsense.

The sort of thing you would expect to see on DU, not FR.

Most of the science-friendly people on FR keep their mouths shut, because they don't want to get into a drawn out fight with the... ah... more 'notorious' Biblical literalists and/or get banned.

*shrug*

Scientists usually doesn't have to actively engage with the general public, because their work - collectively mostly, but sometimes individually - drags society along.

Most people have @$$holes. Soliton was proof that sometimes the opposite is true.

Now if only there were a way to get rid of all the other fanatical crusading G-d-haters invoking concepts (like "ethics," "morality," "rights," and "justice") which they have to purloin from the Theism they so despise.

Shame to see that your ego has led to this. Also sad to see that you’re playing the victim. You constantly push buttons. There’s a difference between defending science and acting like an ass. You chose the latter more than the former. Best wishes, but it’s your own choices that led to this.

Don't forget his bragging about being a "Rain Man" style freak genius who was born smarter than most other people.
