I agree with you, but there exists within some (but not all) segments of Israeli society an desire for “normalization”. This yearning to live a peaceful life has convinced far too many Israelis that they can trust the Arabs. This desire - this weariness from the stress of living in a state in constant preparation for war - is understandable, especially if coupled with appeals (however specious) for “justice” and the slightest overture of peace from the other side. However distasteful, Israelis must recognize that Muslims will never surrender their desire “drive the Zionists into the sea.” Muslims may make tactical retreats and concessions but the overall strategic goal is the same.
