I wonder if that residence has a separate house or apartment on site. A lot of older Hawaiian houses have an “ohana” house in the back. Ohana means family - like a mother in law or relative’s house.

We call ‘um mother-in-law’ cottages in the South.

I founf this online. Wouldn’t neighbor know if someone was living next door to them even if in the back of the house in a cottage?

http://obamasneighborhood.com/homes.html

Excluding his four years in Indonesia (between 1967 and 1971), Barack Obama’s life was spent in half a dozen residences, primarily in Honolulu’s Makiki neighborhood. His first boyhood home however, was on 6085 Kalaniana’ole Highway in Hawaii Kai district about 5 miles east of Makiki. Constructed in 1948, the owner of the yellow, single-story, four-bedroom home claims it’s fundamentally unchanged. On the property is a 450-square-foot cottage built in 1953 that Obama’s parents may have occupied when they lived with his maternal grandparents (Stan and Madelyn Dunham) in 1961 (the year of Barack’s birth).

But also remember Washington University verifies Ann Dunham was in school there.

Ms. Stanley Ann Dunham was enrolled at the University of Washington for:
Autumn 1961
Winter 1962
Spring 1962

The records responsive to your request from the University of Washington are above as provided by the Public Disclosure Laws of Washington State. This concludes the University’s response to your Public Records request. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

When public record information from the University of Washington was added to Wikipedia’s biography of Stanley Ann Dunham (Barack Hussein Obama Jr’s mother), it was removed in 35 minutes the first time and 34 minutes the second time. Read what Obama’s team of internet thugs doesn’t want you to know.
