I wonder if that residence has a separate house or apartment on site. A lot of older Hawaiian houses have an “ohana” house in the back. Ohana means family - like a mother in law or relative’s house.

Constructed in 1948, the owner of the yellow, single-story, four-bedroom home claims it’s fundamentally unchanged. On the property is a 450-square-foot cottage built in 1953 that Obama’s parents may have occupied when they lived with his maternal grandparents (Stan and Madelyn Dunham) in 1961 (the year of Barack’s birth).

But also remember Washington University verifies Ann Dunham was in school there.
