Since there is a Christmas tree in the background, there was speculation they were taken when she was about seven weeks pregnant. She is wearing high-heel platform shoes, but nothing else. Perhaps someone can recall more about them.

The site they are linked off of is located in Oz and not many saved them because her age was unknown and the site itself did cause problems for some who went there. A google search brings up the various sites they are linked on.
I haven’t looked down the thread to see if anyone else answered you. I took Russian in the mid-70s in high school, and in the late 70s in college. It was considered the language to study, because of the cold war and the two-superpower dynamic. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was also true earlier in the cold war.
