it’s safe to say its unlikely the court won’t hear the case.

If it's unlikely they won't, then it's likely they will. Double negative = positive. I'm not so sure this is the meaning that the author of the blog intended, though.

I agree; I think he meant “it is likely the Court won’t hear the case.

The sentence above that one also had a double negative.

It is so refreshing to know that our media experts have such a wonderful command of our language.
