Let’s make it harder: who are the right’s most favorite people on the left? Or should I say, least unfavorite?
It’s Thanksgiving week, and I’m feeling generous, so here goes:
1. Bill Raspberry, who used to write for the Washington Post. He was one of the few liberals who tried to become familiar with the arguments of the right and never sunk to the cheap shot. He defended Rush Limbaugh from charges of racism.
2. Michael Kinsley. Sure, I often disagree with him, but he can at least construct an argument worth considering.
3. Matt Iglesias. At least he’s not a knee-jerk lefty.
That’s as far as I got. I excluded Nat Hentoff, because he’s not really a liberal anymore.
Camille Paglia is at the top of my list of favorite lefties.
Bill Cosby is my favorite lefty. One of the greatest comedians ever.
Has a few right-leaning opinions (ebonics for example) and has taken a great deal of heat from moonbats for expressing those opinions.
camille paglia - she can out talk rush
nat hentoff - he is thoughtful
dick lamm - actually registered as a dim (still registered as a dim) in 1990 so i could vote for him in the primaries in colorado
