Yes, and I don't have my presidents very straight but could have started under Reagan, Carter???. The dates for them are in that timeframe. He was a Democrat and most of the time I knew him goes way back to the early 60's, but is an ardent Republican now, very patriotic, and spends much time helping disabled veterans because he knows how to cut through red tape.

Started? No, it started long ago, long before any of us now were even born. We just have the unfortunate destiny to be close to the final phase. The reason so many cannot see where this is leading is that they have been deliberately blinded, by an apparatus which has been in place for almost a century, constantly tuning, tweaking, and refining its technique in the art of misdirection.

When did it begin? Nobody can truly say with any certainty, but the first *major* event came in December of 1913, when the abomination known as the Federal Reserve was created, and Congress totally abdicated its responsibility under the Constitution, giving it, and untold power, to a band of ruthless, power-hungry bankers, who had a dream of "one world government". It has been all downhill from there.

We, and by that, I don't mean just the United States, but the entire world, started down that slippery slope which was meant to lead to a global despotism then, and we have just about hit the bottom of said slope...

“God will bring us back from this,...”

Not necessarily. I pray you’re right, but God will take only so much before He’s had enough. America has turned its back on Him for so long now!

If you've read, and believed your Scriptures, then yes, He will "bring us back", but perhaps *not* in the way many here are thinking at the moment. If it is, indeed, the time for the final showdown between Him, and His rebellious servant, then what we most fear coming to pass *will* do so. It is a part of His plan, and His battle strategy for it to be so.

Once He has secured the victory against the rebellious, and bear in mind that it *is* both His fight, and His victory, then will He restore what we have lost, in our human imperfection.

What part do we play? He has laid that out as well, in His Word...

This is exactly what I feel. I know some of you feel we are just complaining and want it all to stop. I agree that we don’t need to waste all effort in just complaining, but even here on freerepublic.com, there are those who don’t seem to understand the significance of what just happened to us. I feel there is only one way out. National prayer and repentance. I know you may scoff, but when things get so bad that people call out to God to help, they tend to be a little more willing to look at personal and national sin and ask forgiveness. Tough times can bring out the best in us through repentance. I think that is the only thing that will get God’s attention at this point, as we mouth one thing but live another, nationally. In an interesting and informative article the other day, the Barna survey stated that though 86% say that they believe in God and call themselves Christian, only 7% actually believe and hold to (live) the true tenents of Christianity. We are like Europe in that respect.

I’d like to hope that we can win back more seats in 2010 and 2012, but I doubt that we are hurting enough as a country to rise up and turn it around. And, for those advocating fraud, acting like the democrats, to turn this around...God doesn’t work in that way. We will not succeed.

>>>They did have a Constitution, although it was not of long standing like ours is.

I had said Germany didn’t start out with a constitution and a nation which declared itself a nation of God.

I didn't think this out very well.
All governments have some form of a constitution.
Most governments of a free people identify themselves as religious, swearing allegiance to God in some way.

My point was that our constitution and history is unique in that it recognizes the flawed nature of government itself, and was designed to limit government's power and scope. Of course, a country is not defined by it's constitution, but rather by those who run it. For us it's an issue of the people failing to live up to their individual responsibilities, and not taking seriously the phrase "We the People". That is what is unique about it. I believe that our constitution was divinely inspired in many ways... not like the bible, but more like an answered prayer of our founding fathers who asked God Himself to help with it's formation. It was not modeled after any previous government or constitution, and put the ultimate authority in God's hands.

>>>Ours of course does not declare us a Nation of God

I stand corrected there...
Ours defines us as One Nation UNDER God.

>>>Now none of that means that we are not a Nation of God, but rather that if we are, it’s because we are a “People of God”, not a Government of God.

Total agreement here.
I think the argument has become “Are we a people of God?”.

I think we are... we are just not doing enough about it.
Now we’ll pay the price for it.

The USA that we grew up in is gone, never to return. This is not a mere pendelum swing. The 20 million illegal aliens who will soon be amnestied will vote welfare ‘rat for the rest of their lives.

Obama will turn a depression into an opportunity to seize “emergency powers.” This will happen. Price controls, martial law. In short, communism in everything but name. And the sheeple will demand every bit of it.

The best conservatives can do now is move to deep red counties in red states, to put a buffer between themselves and the fedgov. Don’t feed the parasites, move away from blue urban welfare rat zones.

Something the writer failed to mention is that this is similar to the atmosphere preceding the Spanish civil war, only this time the army has been carefully stationed so far away that it won’t be available to support the conservative side.

Just a couple of thoughts. We still had a pretty strong industrial base after WWII and the Korean War. It seems to have been Vietnam and the anti-war crowd that started yapping at us because of our industrial military complex. Now if we have to have interminable wars to justify all that, I don't see it as a good thing, but I've always thought having a strong military and industry to support it has kept us safer than we would have been otherwise.

The Fed. I've read a little about it, but have a banker in the family, found a book set out for the trash in front of some affluent house and read it, could have been conspiracy stuff. Anyway I asked about it, and got the "look" and nothing but good to say about the Fed.

So I don't talk about it.

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter. Surely there is something we can do to stop this from happening. I wonder if it is even constitutional?!

OH thank the Lord!!!! I inherited two!!!

My Grandpa’s old shotgun that he fed the family with may be a bit rust, but my dad’s 22 is in good working order.

They are kept seperately from my hubby’s registered shotgun.

The first thing that is going to happen is that all law regarding shooting someone on your own property will be over turned, then the Ammo will disappear.

People are right, BLOAT.

Does anyone know how long Ammo “keeps”?
My hubby pitched a whole lot. How much can I buy reasonably and how long before it “goes bad”?

Think about how completely wicked this nation has become.

$$$$$

I agree that this is a huge part of the problem that has led to these election results.

Where have the mothers been for the past 20 years telling retail stores they would like to buy modest clothes for their daughters?

Where have the fathers been who decided that it is okay for their teens to wander around resorts in mini-bikinis?

Where has been the denunciation of the increasing vulgarity of tv shows?

Nowhere, at least not in any percentage enough to make a change.

40 percent of all births in the US are now to single women. That statistic tells me that our country as we have known it is not sustainable. The cornerstone, which is a strong family, has crumbled beyond repair - just like the weak spot of the bridge in Minneapolis - one day there was no strength left and it toppled over.

There is a message going around left-wing circles about a Bush/Cheney army ready be used against Americans. A brigade or division on stand-by or some nonsense. I hear this concern from left-wing callers to radio and cspan so regularly that it must be something that is being sold to the gullible/anti-Bush crowd.

Somebody had a reason for starting this propaganda scare rumor, which, although totally preposterous, is being bought. I believe that it has something to do with Obama’s desire to get his own ‘security force.’

Enough of the gullible will think it is only “fair” for him to do it - to counteract the ‘evil’ rightwingers.
