To say that there will be some buyers remorse come 2009 is probably one of the greatest political understatements of all time. The level of deception in this election was absolutely unprecedented, but you cant fool people forever. And even worse, those members of the far left who will be comfortable with the new Obama when the curtain is pulled away will be just as disappointed as well. Hes promised everything to everyone, and he cant possible deliver for them all. The first time he tries to walk on water and sinks to his knees theyll turn on him like wolves.

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords...
.
(As an aside, the page that hosts this photograph is probably getting a heck of a lot of hits today, so don't blame me when their bandwith is exceeded!)
The appropriate term:
“Anticippointment” - building up expectations to a level that will inevitably lead to disappointment.
You got that right!
Unfortunately, liberals aren’t smart enough to realize that they’ve been duped.
Obama has been getting by on the arrogance of inexperience. He’s never done anything so he’s never felt the sting of failure. Now he’s reached a point where the only things left to him are success or failure and he’s promised the impossible.
At least they don’t have 60 seats in the senate. THAT would have been the end of America!
In the meantime, 0bama is going to make my house payment and car payment! I don't even know why I bother with a job!
You can't have a backlash without first having a lash, and we should all be prepared for that.
That’s the real shame of it. The “Rich” won’t really be hurt by him, it’s the poor who will suffer. He raises my taxes I move my investments offshore. He raises taxes on my business I hire fewer people. He jacks up energy costs by a factor of 10 I can still afford it, but the poor cannot.
I want to know what bargain Hillary made with the devil. Will Zero renege on THAT?
I kind of feel like America has voted for a candidate that they didn’t “date” for long enough before marrying him. I foresee the honeymoon being very short, and one morning they will wake up and think, what in the heck did I do?
Hey, NJ from a fellow NJer - you hit the nail on the head.
There are millions like that women in Florida who truly believe they will no longer have to pay for gas for their cars or pay their mortgage. They have rising expectations, and a day of reckoning will arrive when they realize that their messiah (I use a lower case letter out of deference to the true one)has not delivered. I think there is a case to be made that in one or two summers hence, there will be disturbances in our urban areas that will make the riots of 64 look like Cinderella’s ball.
Yup. the mindless fools that have elected Obama sure as heck did not do it for the good of the country or based on any principles other than ‘gimme’ They don’t even have a working knowledge of government or politics. I would bet money the majority of them actually think Obama is president TODAY and will start handing out the goodies forthwith. What a surprise they are in for when they find out ol’ Obamaclaus has an empty sack. I wonder how many of his grand speeches they will flock to after that. To say that they will turn ugly and fast is an understatement. It will be like wolves tearing each other apart.
It would be great for someone to look her up in two years and see how that's working out for her.
As I said in another thread, my first instinct is that we need to fight tooth and claw against everything that is coming. But on second thought, maybe the better strategy is opt out. Vote "present" on everything, take responsibility for nothing. Let it all fail quickly in a way that makes it painfully obvious even to the most willfully ignorant where the fault lies. Then we can begin to rebuild.
What we don't want is for Zero to blame his failure to deliver on obstruction by republicans and conservatives.
The glass isn’t empty. It’s our next President that is.
Sore loser, you should have listened to McCain's gracious words about Obama and the way he calmed the angry crowd at his concession speech instead of getting your panties in a bunch yourself. Live with the new reality that your 'conservative' ideas have failed miserably, proving them invalid. The GOP always runs a bigger bloated government and runs our economy into the ground with voodoo economics producing heavy deficits. They only SAY they want a smaller government and 'opportunity for all' as code words for tax cuts for the rich, but the amazing thing is that there are so many people lame enough to buy it. Again and again and again, hell there are still Nixon supporters voting Republican. It's almost enough to make you lose your faith in humanity, except when you see that the majority does get it eventually, look today we just elected Obama and we start a new day tomorrow in a climate of hope and change instead of hate and fear. That is the kind of world I want to live in and finally I can feel proud to be an American again after watching my country be sullied from within by war and torture and spying and lying and all the other crimes, real crimes, of the Bush administration. I want to see my country regain its morality and reject the Taliban-like thinking that comes from the right about how we should suffer for religious ideological reasons (i.e. embryo research, abortion). And I have a good feeling that Obama is going to deliver. McCain would have just been more hate and fear.
This is what passes for logic and reason on the left. This is going to be a very long four years...
