I read that article last night. They confirmed they have his original birth certificate.
They did NOT confirm that he was born in Hawaii. That was the interpretation by some of the articles, usually expressed in a headline.
The wording set off my Clintonian BS detector. So, I asked: is it possible to have an original birth certificate in Hawaii, without actually being born there?
The answer is apparently: yes. However, I don't know if that is the case with Obama.
Obama produced and original COLB to the VIrginia Board of Elections, which then produced it, with an affidavit attesting to its authenticity from the Hawaii Dept. of Health.
The original birth certificate, or a certificate of live birth, which has been discussed ad nauseum? The latter isn't sufficient proof of "natural born". However, it may be considered sufficient proof of citzenship.
This is a silly distraction from the real issues in this election!!!!
Yes, it is. But frankly, I would rather see Obama lose the election and make this a moot point, rather than plunging into a Constitutional crisis afterward.
This is yet another item in a long list of "what do really really (not) know about Obama?" If it instills any doubt in fence-sitters, that's fine with me.
You are right, a Hawaii resident can be issued a birth certificate if born out of state.
