I couldn't agree with you more. Over the past few days I've had several people privately admit to me that they are going to vote(or already have) for McCain--people I never dreamed would vote for a Republican.
And my analysis is they are not just now deciding. They decided long ago but only now feel confident enough to tell anybody.
Unfortunately they aren't willing to be more public about their choice, but I got at least one to put a "Another Democrat for McCain" bumper sticker on their car.
My sister-in-law, a Jewish Democrat raised in a family of liberal Jewish Democrats, is voting for McCain and makes no bones about her dislike of Obama.
However, since she lives in Massachusetts, it doesn’t really matter all that much.
