Pretty sure that’s Edward Said... who is just as/more nutty than Khalidi.

He is a lovely man. /s

Here is a picture of him throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers.

IIRC, that is the honoree, Palestinian terrorist supporter Rhashid Khalidi, and his wife Mona, who was founder and CEO of some Arab organization in Chicago.

This was the farewell dinner for him - he was leaving Univ of Chicago and going to Columbia. He was buds with Edward Said at NYU, another charming anti Israel hatemonger.

Who do those hands belong to that can barely be seen sitting to Michelle's right in the picture?

That’s the late Edward Said on Barack Obama’s left (our right).

This 1998 dinner had Said as the keynote speaker, so Obama was already being treated as a major up-and-comer by the organizers, to be seated next to the guest of honor.

Said died in 2003. He was one of the most virulent anti-American, pro-terrorist left-wing academics around.

More beloved and influential on the far left than just about any contemporary academic after nutbag Noam Chomsky.

Just the photo of Obama jawing closely with Said ought to make anyone who cares about Israel’s survival VERY nervous.
