Gore’s October surprise for Bush was on the Friday before the election.. IMO it was actually done too soon as by Tuesday it began to wear off IMO. I would of done it Sunday night and had the Monday morning shows lead off with it.

NO way too late. Clinton did this to Bush sr. the Thursday before the election when Bush Sr was ahead. He sprung on the voters the Caspar Weinberger indictment........and we all know what happened next....Clinton won.
