The pity of it is, many people think this way. And they are not kidding.
Except for most of them didn't spend a large portion of their lives working hard to get ahead.
They want to skip right to the part where they show up with their hands palm-up.
Why should we work hard when we can live well off of just a tiny portion of wealth redistributed from those more fortunate than us?
After all, the only thing that separates us from the more fortunate is fortune. That's whey they are called the more fortunate, and we are called the less fortunate.
It's not our fault we are poor. Why should we work hard to change it. If we had only been born rich we wouldn't have to work so hard. So by demanding wealth redistribution we are just demanding out turn, our fair share...
