If Ann flew BOAC that particular flight from Kenya landed in Vancouver, B.C. and believe me when I say that customs between Canada and the U.S. in the 60’s was incredibly lax! Driving across the border in a car the officer asked to see some I.D. of the driver (sometimes) but never asked for I.D. for passengers. There were no records kept at that time. Ann could have phoned her mother’s friend to come up and get her then they could have driven across the border with nary an eyebrow raised by the Customs officers.
