Does anyone know if a candidate ever has to furnish physical proof of the following Constitutional eligibility requirements:
- being a natural born citizen of the United States
- being at least thirty-five years old;
- have been a permanent resident in the United States for at least fourteen years

At least as it pertains to getting on a State/territory ballot, my suspicion is that physical proof is not required otherwise the birth certificates etc. would have to be sent to each State /territory.
