My understanding is that an elector can vote for any person who meets the consitutional requirements. This has happened several times in the past, “rogue electors” deciding to vote for someone else, even though they had been on a slate “pledged” to a certain candidate. Electors are not legally required to vote for anyone. I believe this happened in 1960, among other cases. So, technically, the disqualification of Obama would not prevent an election from being held in November, nor would it prevent the electors from meeting their respective states and DC in December and electing a president by voting for the candidate of their choice.
