If a majority number of voters elect someone to public office (despite their history, political stance or general proclivities that might offend the minority voters) … the people have spoken and nothing can stand in the way (constitutionally). ;-)

The Congress stands between the voice of the People and the Presidency. It can impeach and remove a president no matter what the People say or want.
