Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing.
IF he “automatically” was granted another country’s citizenship by virtue of adoption (in the US), what exactly does that have to do with his eligibility?
The blogs linked above all appear to have been written by Hillary folks who can’t get over losing but want their efforts to be blamed on Republicans.
OK. That is inocuous enough unless he became a citizen of Indonesia? Is that the alegation?
Is this Indonesian citezenship really a big deal?...was he born out of the US?
Could Hillary win with zero black votes?
Soetero is his adopted name. When you are adopted, they issue you a new birth certificate with your new name.
He later changed his name to Obama in honor of his birth dad.
No one knows (so far) what is on his original birth certificate, it would have been sealed when he was adopted.
Partly my concern also. The only question is would the Obamites roll over and vote for her?
She might get more traction out of this if she just got him to make her VP. Then arkancide him leaving her as Pres.
It is not beyond the Clinton machine
See 46
yours is a good explanation
I believe Hill has been letting this drip-drip-drip out into the public arena. She is applying her thumb to his jugular; if he picks her to be his running mate this all goes away. If not, a little more gets released until he is ready to do whatever it takes to make it stop. Thats making her his VP.
As with most things, the cover-up is usually worse than the thing its covering up. But its enough to give her some leverage, I think.
If she pushes him out altogether, she faces a backlash. If she's the vp, that all goes away. And she can let tomorrow take care of tomorrow.
OK. You’re out there. None of that crap is gonna happen.
Is the US President required to hold only one nationality (legally), or it's a matter of politics: when people know he has two nationalities, they would less likely to vote for him?
If provable, that would be a knockout, down for the count.
Anyone who has that proof owns him.
The big deal out of all this is that Obama continues to lie and hide his past. It may not prevent him from being ineligible for the presidency on Constitutional grounds, but it may help derail his campaign like a lying John Edwards.
I did not follow some of this closely...was the fake birth certificate provided by Obamas campaign?
Yes, according to the Daily KOS. They said they received the bogus birth certificate from the Obama campaign.
“Will it be worth anything without the latte liberal, peacecreep, college student, Kool-aid drinker and black vote, though?”
Mariam Berry and OJ come to mind.
I like happy endings too. I was so very happy when Hillary was ‘finished’.
Do we know which passport Obama used for that trip? He would have been 20, correct? If he used a passport from another country, would that automatically affect his loyalties toward America?
This would definitely be worth a court case, but probably not enough to disqualify him citizenship.
For instance, voting in another country is supposed to be a factor in determining country loyalty. However, there are many citizens of the USA who have voted in other countries (Mexico, Israel, etc.). I would actually think that using a passport conferred on you would be a similar semi-minor infraction, but if you had otherwise been a model citizen of the USA, I'd not think we would revoke citizenship for either a vote nor usage of another passport. (I certainly have heard of cases of Americans with dual citizenship choosing to travel to dangerous places using the local and not the American passport.)
I do not believe that asking for a passport renewal (as Obama may have done in 1981) is a citizenship disqualification either, because what you are doing is asking for an update of a document. Your citizenship of a country does not change whether or not you have a passport. Many Americans do not have a passport, and yet they are citizens in good standing.
The law looks at several of these "loyalty to another state" issues when it decides to revoke American citizenship. There has to be something egregious before a citizenship is revoked. Not even fighting in the army of another state is cause for automatic revocation of American status.
Right. She could win. She might lose too. But she has a better campaign team than Obama. He was really good at winning the nomination— that was easy for him. He can’t help but be a leftist through-and-through. Her eyes have always been on the prize. The Clintonista are tough. They will go for McCain’s throat, given half a chance. It’s true that many of BO’s supporters will feel betrayed, but she will polarize, fight dirty, and make up for part of that.
It will take courage, but we have more research on the Clintons than BO. The McCain crowd will scream for us to stop ‘villifying’ her. That will be one of our biggest problems.
