Interesting point. I was born in ‘56, and I distinctly remember how wild things were from about 1966 until the end of the Viet Nam war, and Nixon’s resignation. It was just crazy then, 24/7. Being a young teen for much of that time, I just thought it was “normal” to live in interesting times, as the old Chinese proverb goes.

I am only a few years older but remember the Kennedy/Nixon debates, Kruschev , Castro, the Cuban missile crisis, Dad thinking about digging a fallout shelter, both Kennedy assassinations and the attempted one of a presidential candidate, Agnew and the milk scandal, then there was Lord Mr. Ford, drugs, sex and Rock and Roll and four dead in Ohio.Timothy Leary and tiny Tim tip toeing through the tulips while young girls fainted over four gents from Liverpool. Terrorism in Europe was at an all time high not from Arabs but eastern block communist countries, the cold war and spy planes. ..... Gees, what wonderful memories!

I'm a little bit older than you and remember a bit of the relatively quiet times that preceded. This nation today is nothing like it was then -- some changes were good, many were bad. I did not like the "interesting times."
