Everything in Starwise's #9090 on the passport timeline is, in my view, correct. She got the passport around Christmas time, perhaps slightly before, perhaps as late as January, in the 1960-61 year break. If she finished the first semester in Hawaii and got her finals credit, which the record appears to indicate that she did, by knowing when finals were conducted at U of H in the fall semester 1960-61, you would be able to speculate more accurately as to the actual issue date.

Whether onyx's speculation about the intent to leave the child in Kenya is or is not correct--I don't know of any facts on the topic one way or the other. My own speculation is that Stanley Ann recut her deal with her parents in the Feb-61 to July-61 period to support an effort to continue her education at the University of Washington. Which would confirm Fred's speculation that she never went back to Honolulu at all after the birth in 1961.
