Well, now we’re getting into the realm of speculation, but what I’m wondering is, what did they do with the ashes after Toots was cremated?
Probably she was cremated before the memorial service and her ashes were there at the service. Possibly the Minister kept them there in his office until the Obamas arrived later to pick them up. No evidence for this one way or another, but it’s possible. I’ve seen photos of scattering the ashes at the shore, but I don’t know if any stories got into that kind of detail.
