Widely distributed reports have noted in January 1968, Obama was registered as a Muslim at Jakarta’s Roman Catholic Franciscus Assisi Primary School under the name Barry Soetoro. He was listed as an Indonesian citizen whose stepfather, listed on school documents as “L Soetoro Ma,” worked for the topography department of the Indonesian Army.

Catholic schools in Indonesia routinely accept non-Catholic students, but exempt them from studying religion. Obama’s school documents, though, wrongly list him as being Indonesian.

After attending the Assisi Primary School, Obama was enrolled – also as a Muslim, according to documents – in the Besuki Primary School, a public school in Jakarta.

Yes, depending on who reports it, he and his mom (Ann Dunham) relocated to Indonesia in '66 or '67 after she married Lolo Soetoro. Here's Obama Jr in this image here:

Obama Sr flew 10,000 miles from Kenya, reportedly for a college reunion in Hawaii (my theory has long been that Obama Sr flew back to sign sealed adoption papers to place Obama Jr into Lolo's custody [thereby officially changing Obama Jr's name to Barry Soetoro]):

Obama Jr continued to go by "Barry Obama" throughout school in Hawaii, supposedly as a nickname.

Most likely, once his records from his years in Hawaii or his first two years of college at Occidental in California are revealed, we'll see that Barry Soetoro was (and IS) his legal name.
