We chatted about this before. The house out on Kalanianaole was way out the affordable range for a couple college students and the Dunhams lived in Makiki or somewhere near the UH.

I just looked over the photo of the Kalanianaole homestead.....and it looks like the backside of a larger home, away from the fronting on the highway with a plumbing wall and utilities service.

The photo of Kapiolani could never have been taken in '61 since it didn't exist till 10 years later. There was a clinic then but no hospital.

And WTH is a 'Truther' anyway? Not familiar with the term.

When you go out to Aina Haina and Hawaii Kai, there's two sides of the highway. On the Makai side, real estate is prime, next to or near the ocean......like walking distance. On the Mauka side, lots of developments sprouted up running up from the highway into the valleys and low hillsides. These were mostly private homes of working people and not a lot of rentals. It took bucks to live on the Makai side.

Researching Georgia McCauley, dear friend of Dunhams in Hawaii who surfaced in Madeyn’s apt. building at the time of her death. Husband campaigning in Indonesia for Barry? Also explains how easey it would be to bury his Hawaii DOE school records.

LOL a “Truther” are the bunch who claim the govt and Bush were behind 9/11 and apparently certificategaters are given the same title.
Anyway I have been fighting a headache for two days and have to admit that the information was in the house article and slipped past me. Right now I am literally dancing since it popped right out at me when I opened the page to send you the link.

In Jr’s own words:

which appear on page 39 during his father’s 1971 visit to Oahu. Quoting directly “...we went on short walks past the private landmarks of a family...including my grandparents’ first house in Hawaii, before the one on University Ave., a house I had never known.”

Now looking at the article which “The Honolulu Advertiser” published we have:

In 1963, when she was a UH sophomore, Stanley Ann Obama’s address was listed in a university directory as 2277 Kamehameha Ave. She filed for divorce in 1964. It can be assumed that she and young Barack also spent time with the Dunhams at the two-bedroom apartment on Alexander, which is also still there.

backyard in Manoa
By 1964 the Dunhams, along with young Barack and their daughter, who was now going by the name Ann Dunham, were living together in a four-bedroom home at 2234 University Ave., records show. This single-story Manoa home with its wide-open veranda and sprawling front and back lawns, was within walking distance of Noelani Elementary School, which Obama attended.

The house before the one on University Ave. was the one on Kamehameha St! The Advertiser took the address on the birth announcement and ran with it without any verification! The Dunhams never lived on Kalanianaole Hwy! They try to make it sound like the Dunhams were a highly paid couple saying that Stanley was a furniture store operator when he was only a salesman and Madelyn wouldn’t have made much at that time as a mortgage administrator. Eventhough people thought highly of Madelyn Dunham I feel that she registered the birth which generated the birth announcement by using what she knew was a safe address from her work at the bank. How many people actually pay attention to birth announcements except the people involved?

Something else which has bothered me about the house article. They give the address for Sr as 625 11th Ave. which I presume is in the St. Louis Heights area. Anyway they mention that a building was built there in 1990. Wouldn’t that be unusual having a building lot with nothing on it for such a long period of time? The small, single story house Sr lived in while at UofH was torn down sometime between June/62 and Dec./71. To not have any building on a lot in that area for such a long time seems highly unusual. Sorry to pick your brains but you are more familiar with the area than someone living in Idaho! lol
